  1. i regret the fact that i didn't save one article of old clothing couple of months post goal............ i went into Kohl's and reached for the 2X elastic blue jeans that i used to wear daily i put them on over my jeans i just stared at myself - almost crying, but for a different reason i was sad/upset how i looked - and what others used to have to look at!!!! for a few minutes - i was in a world of my own with many thoughts of my "past life" i put my size 6 blue jeans back on and looked at the new me i think its ok/good to remember where you/me were so you/me are reminded we never want to go back there I did buy the 2X jeans - and the new pair of pants are hanging to remind me of the OLD me kathy
  2. jessica oh noooooo i was just kidding when i said "show off" thats why i put the laughing face there you look terrific you did a wonderful, amazing job happy one year surgiversary keep up the good work for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life to you - a well deserved proud sleever from me - a "well deserved" proudgrammy kathy congrats
  3. w8loser call the doctors office silly head they can "probably" answer your question!!! since you've been approved (so quickly ), I would "assume" (we shouldn't really use that word ) that this does sound like pre-op stuff maybe you will see your NUT also one whole day does sound like a long time to be their they might have been telling you worse case scenerio (maybe telling you not to make other plans, maybe to take the day off from work) WLS in a couple of weeks??? probably a little nervous, overwhelmed??? some/most/all of us have those emotional feelings prior to surgery you are on your way starting your new, healthier, happier, longer life i am holding the door open to sleeveland for you "please come in ") good luck with surgery speedy recovery kathy
  4. Dr-Patient awwwww man, that was you i heard crying??? what a mess!!!! i just put the mop away after having to dry "your" floor clothes NVS's are always the best we live for them!!!! great weight loss keep up the good job i know you will kathy congrats
  5. re14768 you were immediately given insurance approval thats wonderful i can understand not wanting to have surgery at the hospital where you work hopefully things will work out I think you DO have to stay on the doctors' offices back!!!! you want the change in hospitals, you want this surgery - and they need to get their act together!!! i am sorry your mom presently isn't being supportive as you said, hopefully that will change sooner than later fortunately or not, with my commorbittes, BMI, problems - i was definitely "heavy enough " to have surgery per your profile you are also 5'3 i weighed 235 lbs day of surgery (you are 240?) tell your mom, per my doc - we are "both heavy enough" for this surgery and you can also tell her i lost 105 lb - reaching my goal weight of 130 lbs tell her i am also the happiest i've ever been, and that i'm cute as a button good luck kathy
  6. Jessica show off!!!! great pic lookin' terrific keep up the good work for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life kathy congrats
  7. "weight loss on the back burner and the burner was OFF...18 months out and 20 lb regain" Sassafras soooooo sorry about all the personal problems you have been dealing with recently what Carlotta1 said above is correct "what has been done in the past is over. Don't dwell on it." gotta move forward i liked your statement concerning the stove top take yourself OFF that back burner put yourself right up FRONT - thats where you belong!!! Remember that, you are the important one!!!!! good news, bad news YES people can/and do lose their regain but "easily"???? are you kidding me taking the weight off to begin with is no piece of "cake" be diligent, stick to everything you've done in the past it might be hard to get back with the program initially....... but if anyone can do it, its you!!!! i have heard the 5:2 plan can/is very successful hopefully you'll hear from others who have/are doing that but...........going back to the basic rules, starting again - sure the weight will eventually come off maybe give yourself a jump start by going on a liquid diet, Protein shakes (yeach!!! ) for a week or two do what you did before protein, carbs small portions, calories chewing thoroughly eating very slowly no drinking for 15-30 minutes before you eat don't drink with your meals (people have been shot for less) don't don't don't drink for 45-60 minutes after you eat and drink at least 64 oz of Water daily whats worse than gaining 20 lbs??? gaining 21, and 22, and, and, and!!! don't go their!!!!! KNOCK IT OFF you CAN and will do this please come back to the board more often you'll get help and support from all I/we love to see your smiling face!!!! hopefully your personal issues with the house et al will be resolved sooner than later but.............we/many/most of us will have personal issues in our lives, and we must TRY not to have those issues effect our weight (easier said than done) good luck kathy
  8. ooooooop double posting deleted
  9. tanya i usually have one scrambled egg every morning borrrrrrring - i need to find something else easy to get some variety lunch is usually my FAGE yogurt with fresh blueberries and granola ummmmm ummmm good i frequently will have a baby bel cheese mid day lunch - tuna, or egg salad , cottage cheese w/pineapple - or my favorite standby of yogurt i have a cannister set - with coffee, then sugar, and cream (for hubby) and then sweet 'n low (put one in my yogurt) and last cannister is kept full with granola dinner - chicken i.e. i will have about 4 oz then veggies snack later like i said earlier, its ok/good to remind yourself you "might" gain weight but don't dwell on it!!! those thoughts are a reminder for me that i need to be careful with my choices and quantities for the rest of my healthier, happier, longer life u can do it too - i have confidence in you keep up the good work kathy congrats
  10. sissy from day of surgery 67 lbs lost!!!! (don't go looking for them ) OMG i knew you could do it!!! keep up the good job I know you will!! you are aces!!!! kathy congrats
  11. jamill527 hmmmmm......... great pics i think doing "your thang" is working for you being motivated is a great "thang" to have 84 lbs lost!!!!! keep up the good job i know you will!!!! kathy congrats
  12. tanya when I was a newbie - people didn't talk much on the board about gaining weight after maintennance seemed like a taboo subject i am glad that weight gain "issue" is brought up more often when you/me/we are first sleeved - "most" of us consistently follow the necessary rules to lose their weight how great is that!!!! but.........some people don't realize/or don't act on the fact that having/working with the sleeve is something we need to do for the rests of our lives we must consistently follow all the rules that we had after surgery Water, eating slowly, moderation, waiting after eating before you drink etc etc maintennance, yes its easier to slip into old bad habits and gain back some weight it happens to the best of us none of us are perfect (except me of course ) its "ok" to think of the possibility you might gain weight might help keep you on the straight and narrow!!! hopefully you/me et al won't gain but.......... we've all worked too hard, became too healthy and happy to now "blow" it now fluctuate sometimes 1-3 lbs but thats ok by me never said this was easy (despite what non WLS OP say about this being the "easy way out") you've lost 90 lbs woo hoo party dance party dance kathy congrats
  13. Roo101769 hi there no such thing as a "little" NSV just like theres no expression of - "i ONLY lost X amount of weight" anything you/me/we do/accomplish is a new succeess and blessing playing more with your kiddo/climbing all those steps............. 77 lb loss!!! how great are you hijack alert one time i went up a "million" LOL steps to the top of an ampether (show at an acquarium) the reason.............. Because i could!!!! keep up the good job i know you willl kathy congrats
  14. Mozza my doc responded to me "no you don't need to do a pre-op diet" i thought to myself WooHoo!!!!! went on a couple of food funerals et al gained 8 lbs!!!!!! luckily they did still do the procedure if i had it to do over again.... i would put start improving my eating, moderating my portions, putting the drinking rules into effect followed by a liquid diet for maybe a few days/or a week as OP said, better to lose some weight prior to surgery - all the less to lose afterwards if you asked my advice (which you didn't, but heres my 2 cents LOL) if you MUST go on one small, "little" splurge one night for dinner try not to go overboard like i did lose a few lbs you are on the way to new healthier, happier, longer life enjoy the ride good luck with surgery speedy recovery kathy
  15. starna01 as long as you don't have a fever - "usually" there shouldn't be a problem with having WLS Nyquil and/or dayquil helped me feel better best wishes for surgery good luck speedy recovery kathy

  17. Water rules can/are very hard for me at times - but necessary to follow sometimes i am "disappointed" that i can't/don't drink with meals -- and then i wait 45-60 minutes before i can drink again small price to pay for success kathy
  18. kate one week before my sleeve surgery "it" was cancelled! it was rescheduled for one week later not really a big deal - but i was so disappointed i had to wait i can't imagine what you have been going through so sorry for these stupid delays once you finally do get WLS "hopefully" the good will outweigh the bad when you FINALLY have your surgery take care good luck for your eventual date kathy
  19. happy camper peaking at older posts and saw your post wondering how you were doing??? little hijack update on my part............ per doc i couldn't drive for 6 months post surgery but, understandable driving all over doing this, that everything - being so happy since losing 45 more lbs (total 105) meds were slightly reduced again meds are necessary - no more reduction is possible - but the lower dosage is/was a wonderful unexpected NSV great weight loss for you happy keep up the good work kathy
