  3. @@Derouin4 i think many people start to enjoy the independence/self-confidence et al - that they might/probably never experienced before this "new person" might startle/scare some love your DH like you do, and hopefully things will be fine i have read from others that their relationships have changed between S.O. - spouse, and friends and relatives too don't know a "%" of people this happens to good for you going to counseling as your journey is starting sounds like you two are going the right way talking about your future weight loss possible/probable changes you will be going through sounds like you have a handle on this - and hopefully all will work out positively continue to reassure DH that you love him as with every thing else the one thing we all have in common is that we're all different this is true for hair loss also i think many/most people lose their hair/thins out i was one of the lucky ones that only lost their head not my hair if the worse thing that happens throughout your journey is hair loss....... thats not too bad, considering what you gaining or should i say losing scarves, wigs - or going all natural - all interesting ways to deal with the situation hair today, gone tomorrow sorry, i accidentally took an extra silly pill this morning good luck best wishes toward pending surgery speedy recovery kathy
  4. TropicalGirl1205 hi pretty lady 150 lbs!!!! amazing!!! you are aces your hard work paid off!!!! you look beautiful wonderful pic continue to enjoy your new healthier, happier, longer life keep up the good job (i know you will ) happy "13 month" surgiversary kathy congrats

  6. @@pattyor "tried and true" statement...... "the one thing we all have in common is that we're all different"!!!! as you've read above, people have taken anywhere from a few days to a few weeks etc the doc that told you that people might have surgery on a friday, and work on monday is/can be true in many cases - people stayed home for awhile, (a week, whatever) not necessarily due to any "serious" complications many people are extremelllly tired, weak et al if they have the sick time - they will/can use it many people can afford financially/or sick leave to take off from work longer for me - i immediately continued my "job" i'm retired its good to rest, relax - take care of you!!!! then of course, their are some slackers/ goofballs that just don't want to work!!! you probably need/should tell your office (for their planning) about how long you will need to take off maybe say 2-3 weeks, and go back sooner/earlier if you are able to listen to your body don't overdue i've heard from informed sources that April 14th is the best day to have surgery good luck speedy recovery kathy
  7. @@ryany i've heard from some/many people on the board that have had"issues"/comment from their family concerning their pending surgery lack of support et al i'm sorrrrrry you are hearing nasty words/opinions from your brother you must/should try and let his/or anyone elses bad comments roll off your back easier said than done i was lucky not to have experienced such thoughts from others i had plenty of support before, during and after surgery so its hard for me to understand why people would say such things as your brother did you made the wise decision to have surgery don't second guess yourself now because of silly/stupid things uninformed people might say this is/probably a difficult time for you - and you don't need his or anyone elses negative thoughts/opinions tell your bro to keep his opinions to himself now and leave you alone!!!!! in other words say, "knock it off" good luck with pending surgery best of luck towards your wonderful journey to a healthier, happier, longer life kathy
  8. @@dsteimen debby what a "good" but very sad analogy as others have said about your obviously true story::::::: i'm very sorry this happened to you emotions/feelings are high anyway, going through a major surgery sounds like you were alone, and to go through the language barrier, too - i can't begin to imagine on these boards, i regularly hear the wonderful experiences from other sleevers about their successful story wonderful treatment, doc in mexico!!!! everybody was helpful and attentive unfortunately you had one of the bad apples - rotten to the core (no joke here ) you'll probably never forgive or forget this nightmare but, try and move on (easier said than done) holding on to anger doesn't hurt the "other" party it hurts/keeps you from moving forward with your life take care good wishes in your new "better" life kathy
  9. @@kennedy relieved that i now know what inspiralized is i can rest easy now Phewwww my hearing isn't that good anymore did you "say" you lost 100 lbs!!!! WooHoo!!!! i'm holding the door for you to enter the century club!! we're drinking in your honor Water of course keep up the good work, (i know you will ) kathy congrats
  10. @@butterflypinup when i first heard saw that questions way back when i was a newbie............. i laughed - how silly losing a shoe size!!!! i quickly learned it was true!!! i went from a wide to a regular width that was cool so i guess you never know the changes that our weight loss can effect!! remember - the ONLY thing we have in common is that we're all different!!!!!!!! i've heard from some, their shoe size wasn't affected in other words don't get rid of those shoes yet!!!! time will tell April 16th you are having surgery?!!!!! common knowledge that is the best day to have WLS!!!! 33 lbs down pre-op keep up the good job for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life you are aces!!!! good luck with surgery speedy recovery kathy
  11. @@bagonian74 grrrrrrrrowl looking great in your leopard blouse i guess a leopard CAN change its spots keep up the good job i know you will 90 lbs OMG kathy congrats
  12. @@kennedy I've led a sheltered life what in the world is "inspiralized"???? please enlighten me i saw the topic and responded cuz i thought you were talking about inspiration or something btw - your profile/no ticker (hint, hint ) don't know where you are in your journey but i'm sure you are doing great, so........... keep up the good work for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life kathy
  13. @@Nik1115 wow, i hear april 2nd is the best day in the world to have surgery!!! you are probably going through a bunch of mixed emotional feelings like many of us did being excited, scared, nervous, and back again suggestions.............. follow allll the rules you've learned from the board and your doc and NUT too !!!!! we are all wise beyond our years but we are not surgeons/docs/nuts we will support you - give you advice - but the final word should come from your doc/nut (even though we're frequently smarter be as prepared "mentally" as you can for having a "little" pain/discomfort after surgery maybe normal post op issues of gas/vomitting etc for the gas - walk as soon as possible in the hospital keep walking - that helps get rid of the gas if you are in pain - don't be shy about taking pain meds you might be tired for awhile when you get home get as much rest as you can, and then nap keep drinking, sipping - very important you can't afford to get dehydrated remember that you didn't wake up one morning and you were heavy you won't wake up one morning and be skinny either god grant me patience just hurry up about it!!!! take things slow expect the worse, and hope for the best!!!! all that being said - many/me had great recoveries hardly any issues many people returned to work within a few days, or a week never compare your weight loss/time period or anything with others "the one thing we all have in common is that we're all different"!!!! good luck wednesday speedy recovery kathy
  14. @@Jessiegirl30 think its safe to say "we" all understand your pain/thoughts/feelings you might be "physically" alone (except DH) but we've got your back!!!! i'm glad you come to the boards alot i'm glad you have and will continue to gather lots of invaluable information the only person i was reallllly able to talk to about my pending/present WLS, struggles was/is my supportive DH he listens (i rarely give him a chance to talk!! ) the saying, something like "a person should walk a mile in YOUR shoes" comes to mind its hard to relate to something - if "you've" never been their friends/family/others can be great, nice, loving, supportive but they can never REALLY understand our issues with weight since they've never been their you've done an amazing job losing 62 lbs pre-op thats all the more you don't/won't have to lose!!!! not sure if you know this............... i read a survey that was given to hundreds of surgeons and hospitals they all agree on one thing..... April 4th, 2014 is the BEST day to have weight loss surgery how lucky can you be!!!!! good luck with surgery speedy recovery kathy congrats
  15. @@CrazyJaney i was smiling/laughing at your comment, then i said to myself wait a minute.............. i'm a grandmother!!!! so....on behalf of me and all the other grandma & grandpas - we are not ALL crazy!! just a select few!! @@Dondie Olivia you better not be thinking of any nursing home for me kiddo!!!! LOL @@SydneySweetHeart back to topic Sydney, what a hurtful thing your grandma said!!! if she's anything like my mother (or many others)the slip of the tongue and insensitive things like that come out without thinking!! its no excuse (especially for my mother) they just say those kinds of things i think they really don't realize how critical/"mean" they are and these comments, and many more, are very hurtful to you/me/all of us as difficult as it is, easier said than done..... i "try" and take things with a grain of salt, let it slide off my back at the age of 83, my mom will never change how about your grandmother?? gotta love 'em great weight loss congrats keep up the good job for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life kathy
