  4. @@Miss Mac ya think!!! i have 2 knee replacements!!!! the one knee did turn black and blue the next day and hurt but i'm pretty sure the replacement is made out of some special metal great weight loss!!! I see you are about to enter the century club holding the door open for you kathy

  6. @@allymo123 that is so great!!!! wonderful news many others wait forever, and have to keep bothering doc's office or have to appeal their decision OR don't get approved at all hope your surgery date is sooner than later your whole new world is about to begin its a wonderful road you will be following for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life you might have a few ups and downs, couple of bumps - but thats ok the good outweights the bad good luck with surgery speedy recovery kathy congrats
  7. but my sleeve helped break my falllll kidding about the help from the sleeve!!!! butttttt - i did break my poor nosey 2 weeks ago i was at a luncheon at my 83 year old mom's retirement home i got up and tripped over the bottom leg/part of her walker!!!! i fell against the table, hitting my head briefly - but i went smack, straight down landing on my nose and knees!!! losing my 105 lbs/goal this time didn't help break my fall ouch!!! its amazing how much blood comes out of your nose forever!!!!unbelieveable my mom was all panicked there were about 125 people around!!! OMG to add insult to injury......... the nurse helping me asked if i lived there!!! Lord help me!!!! DH came to my rescue in about 1/2 an hour - and against my will, we went to the ER CT scan showed that it was broken!!!! duhhhh ya think?? saw ENT next day - i had in and out surgery the other day (thursday) the surgery itself took about 10 minutes but i was under general anesthia i have a big splint/cast on my nose (not good at posting pics, but i'll try later) nose feels like a ton of bricks i can't blow my nose!!!!! i have decided not to hide in the house - so i am doing errands with hubby today i can't drive because i wear glasses, and i can't see the nose in front of my face!!!!! that was an unintential good one!!! soooooo, guess this shook up my otherwise boring - but wonderful life thought i would share my slory to my fellow buds in sleeveland (and any other wonderful WLS people) going out now I still do look as cute as a button kathy
  8. @@jdillon like some, many, most (me) have lost weight only to regain + don't kick yourself anymore - you are probably already black and blue "can't wait for July" i was very anxious for WLS too but remember - the surgery is here to help/assist you lose the weigh nolthing is done magically overnight you MUST work with the sleeve - and in turn the sleeve will work for/with you but you look like a smart cookie i'm sure you are aware that this is a forever new lifestyle that you need/must follow you have 2 months til surgery you can prepare for surgery by gradually doing the following stop drinking soda (diet soda too) no more coffee don't drink with your meals wait after you eat to drink again for 45-60 minutes drink 64 oz a day these are hard rules to follow - but work on it now - so post op - you'll have a leg up on other newbies head hunger - not sure of the "official" definition, but something like................ you are not really hungry, but your tummy tells your brain you want to eat good luck kathy
  9. @@jennynoblemiller some/many/MOST have dealt with this problem (2.5 years PO I still have my "issues") not many, but some people were never big Water drinkers while eating - I was though sorry, no real help how to make it better just sending my "sympathy" an hour after we finish eating.............. lets meet for drinks to drown our sorrows i'm buying water of course i see you've lost 23 lbs!!!!! wonderful!!!! kathy congrats

  11. @@Roo101769 ahhhhh bud i feel for you that must be soooo hard to be around all that bad food!!! sure we can all tell you to stay strong ignore those wonderful smelling foods it must be difficult offices always have food around!!!! many/most of these people can/might become overweight eating all that junk maybe wear sunglasses and a nose clip?? best of luck to you kathy

  14. @@shaza1963 your entitled to feel a little sorry for yourself - you've gone through a lot did you tell your employer what you've been through??? if you've didn't want to initially, I WOULD tell her now!!! they might be a little more understanding if the doc checked, doc didn't find anything, hopefully all with be ok sorry you've gone through this mess 43 lbs down!!! congrats glad you see that glass 1/2 full/confident way to go continue that great attitude for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life good luck wishing you well kathy

  19. @@The Laughing Cat welll put before WLS - i would try and go to the gym i always felt so awful/not confident in my clothes (and my body), while many others looked terrific but someone told me "people are busy with their routines, not watching me"!! sometimes hard to believe but it is true!!!! i'm not the center of the universe either well then again.......... 58 lbs gone!!! new to onederland!!! keep up the good job (i know you will) meet you at the Water cooler, i'm buying kathy congrats
  20. went to my three year surgery follow up @@lsereno not going to ask how you are doing - cuz the answer is obvious there you are standing pretty at 3 year PO how great are you?? newbies et al love/need to hear success stories from people like you that are anywhere PO from 1 to XXXX .....years thanx for "paying it forward" with this great post, and all the other posts you make Watch for birth control pill malabsorption????. hmmmmm, hubby and i agree that the only "problem"/situation we could have would be a reproduction of grand-kids!!! whats wrong with that?? 3 years +??? you are aces bud keep up the great job for the rest of your healthier, happier longer life!!! Surgeon - doctors - nurses should be the go to source for specific answers concerning your individual medical concerns. @@Recycled hey dude aren't you nice taking the time to give your good advice/comments to all, but especially NEWBIES hope everyones ears were burning good luck to all kathy
  25. @@lylmousy welcome, welcome and welcome you need/want a buddy/mentor?? what are we?? chopped liver!!! we're all here to give info, support ask away with questions about pre-surgery diet ask questions about what to expect post op too rules you need to know and follow after surgery for the rest of your life read posts/answers/questions from others find who to relate to, and YOU make the first move can't alway wait for the "other" person maybe finding another NEWBIE (you are all around )would be good to talk to sharing your similar problems/situations that you are both going through hope you won't have to repeat tests, 6 month pre-op diet et al since you've moved good luck with surgery speedy recovery kathy
