scared to walk in gym @Tinaree good for you by walking and biking continually those are both great exercises walking into the gym for the first time in years can/is scary the good suggestion has been made to make an appt with a trainer/gym "person" get instructions on how to use certain equipment et al people are not looking at you!!! open the door to the gym, you'll be glad you did in the past i thought OMG - everyone is staring at this heavy person but now, IF they are staring at me!!! My future and my sleeve....
Unhappysleever i think changing your name would be a positive/step in the next direction!!!! try not to think of the negative/past "unhappysleever" ie "newandimprovedsleever" just a thought sorry you had complications I/we can only imagine that things must have been so difficult to deal with if you - referring to me and others here - have never gone through issues/problems its hard to put ourselves in your shoes but...........try not to think about "possible" problems you/me/we/all of us (people in regular life too) must/can only live one day at a time you'll always sadly remember your past it is true that problems can arrise at a later time but you have to move on (easier said than done) what happens in the future???? I can't predict it - but i can continue to do my best to "mold" it to maintain/and improve my healthy/happy lifestyle hope things continue to improve and your life gets better and better each day keep up the wonderful job i'm sure you are doing while we continue to see "less and less" of you good luck kathy

Sooo nervous
@@LouisianaBawse do you have a NUT?? this word refers to a nutritionalist in the WLS world!! have you spoken with her??? immediately after surgery you will only be drinking small, small sips make sure you drink as much water/chrystal light - even popsicles as you can don't get dehydrated some of us do have problems drinking PO but you MUST drink!!! some people (me) have trouble downing Protein shakes for some/many people drinking warm/room temperature Water works well water is more important than protein at this earlfy stage of your new life basic rules of WLS 101 don't drink for 15-30 minutes before you eat a meal never drink with your meals wait 45 - 60 minutes after you eat before you drink drink at least 64 oz of water take teeny, small bites when you eat chew and chew put utensil down between bites very very important to get eat lots of protein (60 gr) if you get a NUT/surgeon - listen to him/her all the time!!!! Do whatever they say!!! timing to eat, how long to wait, everything!!!! ok bud, initial rules for now there will be a short written and oral test tomorrow!! my "words of wisdom"LOL can be considered a baseline but ALWAYS listen to NUT and surgeon at first, always!!! - this can't be emphasized enough as far as you being nervous - totally normal for many/most (me) to have different emotions pre-surgery and PO too!! good luck speedy recovery kathy

Do I need a therapist?
@@ladykatie_ i was surprised by the many people here being open seeing a therepist being "embarrassed" about my seeing a therapist, was a subject i even mentioned to my therapist amongst other things, she said.................. "half the world sees a therapist, the other half should" i thought that was great!!! frequently i think that when people ask certain questions (like yours) they already know the answer, they just want confirmation/reassurance some/many/most (me) can benefit from talking to someone about our food issues food continues to be a big part of my life - (in a positive way) how i handle certain situations, reactions from others, many things but.............i talk about many other things too with the therapist after talking/listening to all you guys on the board..... boy do i need help at the end of the day take care good luck kathy

Victoza, weight loss, diabetes, surgery
Victoza side effect being weight loss. @@Travelmego I was taken off all diabetic meds after surgery, and things are/have been going great but last time i had my HG1 (don't remember if thats the right acronym ) my sugar was 6.5 which doc (or me) weren't thrilled about its not terrible, but higher than we like hopefully it will get better, "but" maybe i will ask doc what his opinion on me taking the Victoza it would help lower the sugar again, and if i could benefit alittle helping my weight, that would be great too thanx for reminding me about the Victoza - i'm gonna talk to my doc good luck kathy

I dont know what to be.. Proud or disappointed.
@@jack35 there is an old, but true expression on this board (some people might be sick of hearing it ) "the one thing we have in common is that we're all different!!!" "they" say losing 10 lbs a month PO is average/good you've lost 67 lbs in 6 months - woo hoo!!!! OMG that IS something to be proud of you can look, but take no mind how much or little others are losing, in what time period etc. only think of yourself with positive vibes around you not sure about you, but when i was sad and depressesd in my "past" life i would eat, and eat, and eat some more chin pointed upward easier said than done sometimes keep eating and drinking as you've been told, i'm sure you are doing that things will continue to go upwards, or "down" whichever way you look at it good luck kathy
