I'm So Confused!
Sounds like your band moved up and you no longer have pouch? I've heard that bands sometime need repositioning. I hope you find the answers you need.

Tomorrow Is Band Day!

Question About Restriction
Last night was the first time I actually got the tightness/warning signal. I have actually enjoyed that specific meal a few times post-banding (this was the first since a 2cc fill) and I've eaten more at the other meals, although my new "More" is about 1/3-1/2 less than what I would have eaten in the past. I have also found that another subconscious signal for me is when I take a deep breath towards the end of a meal.

Question About Restriction
I am wondering how the old timers decide they've had enough food at one meal. I went out to dinner and had a cup of chili and some green salad, and found I stopped eating when I got the throat feeling telling me not to eat more. I am wondering if people go by this signal to stop their meal, or if they weigh out/eat a small amount and call it good, whether or not they get their full signal.

How Much At 3-Month And 6-Month?
Technically, avg weight loss is between 1-2lb a week (coming from Allergan itself), so about 8-10 a month. The bigger you are, the faster you lose initially. If you are trying to compare weight loss with banding vs other surgeries, the other surgeries lose more rapidly to start. At five years post-op, the band and other forms of WLS are almost identical in amount of weight lost.

I Have Never Found Restriction!!!
I have read a post by someone who says when they can't decipher between head hunger and real hunger, they go to the fridge and grab a healthy fruit or veggie. If they don't want it, then they aren't really hungry.

Burping, All The Time
Like Cazzy said, it sounds like you are eating solids too early. Everyone's Dr is different, so I just hope you are following the post-op diet recommended by the Dr. As for the burping, I had extreme burping for two-three weeks post-op. I think it has to do with the gas they pump you up with and being full. It did go away after awhile. I only burp occasionally now.

peppermint tea for the gas pain too. Lots of walking, and take your pain meds on a schedule.

Port Area Warmer Than Rest Of My Stomach
infection kind of warmer?

Rollercoaster=Flipped Band
I'm confused, you use port and band interchangeably... I can't imagine your band flipped, that would mean your stomach twisted. Your port is sutures into muscle, if it comes loose, then it is free floating. Usually people have a surgery to flip the port back over and reattach.

Vertical Sleeve...
I know there is a sister site for the vertical sleeve- verticalsleevetalk.com they would be able to answer ant questions. good luck on your decision.

Sick For The First Time After Surgery
If you think you are going to vomit, call your Dr and ask if they could give you an anti-nausea medication. This way, you could have it for any future spells.

Omg....cant Lse The Pr-Op Weight!
What kind of pre-op have you been on? Shakes or low-fat? I would do complete liquids if you are required to lose weight before they will operate.

How Much Longer Do I Wait?
I have Anthem BCBS. Approval took two weeks, after which point I was able to schedule my surgery. Due to a busy schedule for my surgeon, I got my surgery about a month later.

Fyi!!!!! Protein Chips Love Them.!!
I found the Kay Natural's website and ordered two of their sample packs (different variety) and then one each of their protein cookies. It looks like the sample packs come with protein cereals, the protein chips, protein puffs, and pretzels. This could be a very good find, thanks for the post!

Help!
I don't know of Dr's in your area, but wanted to give you some encouragement on this renewing journey also, I would love the 4cc, just for the simple fact that you get restriction so much sooner. I'm looking at probably another 3 months til I am at good restriction.

No Band!!! Food Still Getting Stuck????? :(
I saw in a post a while back that even when the band has been removed, it's possible that there is scar tissue and adhesions that are still in the band shape around the stomach. I would imagine your stomach would naturally stretch over time.

When To Call The Doctor???
A massage therapist is not a medical Dr- in fact, the only thing they know medically is muscle/bone anatomy. The gas will slowly dissolve over the period of a couple weeks. Some suggest using gas X strips. I have also heard drinking peppermint tea helps.

Looking For Good Protien Powder
Unfortunately, protein powders are a personal taste thing. I would say start with buying cheaper versions (Walmart sells the Body Fortress 2lb for $15) and taste testing to find a preference. Something I love, you might hate.

Protein Shake Hard For Me To Do
I found that Jay Robb Tropical Dreamsicle is pretty good. I did not care for the strawberry or chocolate Jay Robb though... My other go to shake is the premier nutrition chocolate from costco. I don't particularly like it, but I can tolerate it and it works for after fills. You can also take a shake and add sugar free syrups to change the taste. If you have an open to the public warehouse distribution type store (think Cash & Carry), they sell the Torini sugar free syrups.

Can You 'feel' Your Band?
The only time I feel mine is when I drink a very cold beverage and I can feel it funneling through... I have read that some people are just more aware of the band within their body though.
