  1. Lynn, How exciting to have your own daughter as a "sleeve sister". Very exciting. Hopefully your daughter can get back on track with you, but still 60lbs is a lot of difference. You sharing her experience will help us know what to beware of. I could see how grazing could become a negative. Good luck to you! Can't wait to hear about your progress and your story!!!
  2. WOOT WOOT!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!
  3. Leslie, You are doing great!!!! I'm betting everyone has a little buyers remorse when we wake up in pain. It is probably just normal. No one likes to be in pain. You are doing great and you will keep feeling better and better! Keep us up to date on how you are feeling! You are already down 10 lbs and it will keep going...you are only going to feel better and better and lighter and lighter! ((hugs))
  4. Vanessa, If I could have done it when I was 20 I would have. Hind sight is 20/20 and I would totally do it. I would have saved myself a lot of heart ache and a lot of money spent on diet plans and foods etc! Good luck to you. Your nerves are normal. My surgery is July 29th and I still have days where I'm shaking in my boots. I haven't had a nightmare yet...but I wouldn't be surprised if I did! Good luck Vanessa! Keep thinking your Happy Thoughts!! You can do this!!! ((hugs))
  5. This is exactly why I am not telling hardly anyone. All those things you have said...I can hear my friends and family saying. I have told 3 people. My husband (who is supportive of whatever decision I have made because he has seen how my weight has devastated me throughout our 18 years together and how hard I've tried and struggled to lose and gain and lose and gain), Told my BFF of 25 years who had Lap band about a year ago, and told a really good friend who is the same size as me....she said she loved me the way I am...and I told her "This is for ME" no one else but me. So, If a really close friend disagreed I can't imagine what my thin friends who don't understand would say. So, I'm just gonna keep it to myself and these 3. That doesn't help you much with your problem sorry! The others had excellent advice!!! This is for you and your health....it doesn't matter what everyone else things!!! We will always be here to listen too!!! ((hugs)) We are always here...vent away!!!
  6. OMG!!!! That must have been so scary! I'm so sorry all this has happened to you! I hope your surgery isn't cancelled...because I know you are probably like the rest of us and so anxious to get it behind you! Keep us updated! I will be thinking about you and sending you lots of healing positive vibes! ((hugs))
  7. I hope you get your ice chips soon! and your pain goes away. Keep us updated! Welcome to the other side. Better day by day! ((hugs))
  8. Sheila!!! THAT IS INCREDIBLE!!!!! You should be so proud of yourself!!!! Unfortunately I have no NSV's to report at this time as far as weight goes. But, I was recently accepted into a very prestigious Veterinary Technician program and start August 29th. I start my pre op diet tomorrow and I'm hoping that I will have some scale victories before my surgery on the 29th. I don't think I'll lose enough to have NSV's but we shall see! I'm so proud of you....keep up the great work!
  9. Silver lining is doing a solo performance tomorrow. Good luck! Sending you healthy, happy, healing vibes for tomorrow! ((hugs))
  10. Thanks so much or sharing Kim! You ARE doing GREAT!!!
  11. Hey Kim, Sounds like you are doing great. I start my Pre Op diet on Saturday! It is good to know it is doable. What does your liquid diet consist of? I hope it stays easy and you lose a bunch before surgery.
  12. Congratulations on everything! You have been through some trials over the past few years. Thanks for sharing your story and I'm so glad to know you are living in the light of life again! It only gets better from here! ((hugs))
  13. Good luck you three and whoever else is going! Very excited for you! I will be sending you happy, healthy, healing vibes tomorrow! ((HUGS))
  14. Leslie, There is no place like home. I hope by now you are at home and resting comfortably!!!! ((hugs))
  15. I don't know what is normal..everyone is different, but I've heard others say on here that the weight loss is better when they get lots of protein in (low carb) and drink lots of pure water. You are still early out. You probably should just concentrate on staying hydrated and healing still at this point. Good luck to you!
  16. Glad you are home, Nancy!!!! Take it easy even though you feel well. Don't want to pull anything! Keep us updated on how you are doing!
  17. Heather! You are so funny! If I had one...I'd try it for you! You are too funny!
  18. Thanks so much Wendy! How are you feeling? How is everything going for you?
  19. is finding babysitters for everything. With the kids home all summer I'm finding it hard to find people to watch them. I will be starting Veterinary Tech school the end of August. I start a 6 week summer Psychology class tomorrow night and hubby just happens to leaving tomorrow for the weekend. So, really can't find anyone to watch my kids for four hours tomorrow night. It stresses me out. Then finding someone to watch them for the pre op appointments next week and for the surgery in two weeks so hubby can be with me. I am a secret sleever and have no family here. So, makes it extra difficult. I know it will be OK...but it stresses me out. I hate asking favors from friends (just the way I am...would rather help than ask help)....and they are in and out for summer vacations. Oh and it seems like I'm always here to help...but when I ask help they are always busy for some reason or another. POOP! Sorry...just had to vent for a few minutes.
  20. A small pillow IS an awesome idea!!! I love having my own pillows from home at the hospital too. When you've had surgery you can't have enough pillows to prop yourself up and get comfy and also....to help you get out of bed. Thanks so much MLD for the reminder! I have 14 more days of waiting after today....not counting surgery day of course.
  21. I hope everyone's surgery went well today! I can't wait to hear! Please post when you get home and let us know you are doing well! ((hugs))
  22. So good to hear Nancy! There is nothing wrong with keeping yourself dosed up! I will probably be dosed up for a good 3 days! I don't believe in having pain if you don't have to! I hope you heal fast! ((hugs))
  23. SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!! I'm sending you lots of Calm, happy, healing vibes your way! Hoping everything goes perfect and little or no pain for you!!!!!! Good luck!!!!
  24. So, glad it all went well and amusing! Thank you for your story. You are a wonderful story teller. You tickled my funny bone! Can't wait to watch your ticker fall!
  25. YAY Bryn! I'm so happy for you! I'm so glad you are pain free!!!!!! YOU ARE ON THE FLIP SIDE SISTER!!! only gets better from here!!!! WOOT WOOT! Sending you lots of healing, happy, pain free vibes!!!!!!
