  1. I am obsessed about it! It is almost all I think about. I just wish my date would get here already. I want to be on the other side and healing and dealing and losing! The time goes faster than we think....but the days are slow. We will get there...don't worry!
  2. Welcome! It sounds like to me you are doing just fine! It seems to be a slow process at first. If I had any suggestions...which I don't know if I'm technically allowed to give yet. I haven't had surgery yet. Maybe try to drink some G2 (gator-aid) to help balance out your vitamins and minerals. That said...I don't know what vitamins or minerals you are already taken. Just my personal fear of getting low potassium. Everyone seems to have to overeat at least once or twice to learn their lesson. I'm sure I will be right in there with everyone else. You are doing great with your weightloss. Keep up the good work! Each day will get better!
  3. Hi Lissa, I'm so glad you are here. IMHO I think your surgeon is 100% right. My BFF had lap band surgery and she is a physician. She has had lots of problems with it. I was actually scheduled to do lap band on July 22 and backed out and changed to sleeve. If you look at a lot of peoples posts on here there are A LOT of people who revise the lap band to sleeve. I do not want to have to mess with that. In my thinking....the lap band is a piece of plastic...with bladders and tubes. It WILL at some point wear out...just like plastic does. We are talking plastic inside a body...our body doesn't just sit there either. This plastic is going to have to go through fills and unfills and the movement of our body. If you have the flu and are throwing up you have to have the fluid removed so you don't make it move. Then after you are done having the flu you have to go and get the fills slowly put back in and pretty much start all over again. There are just so many possibilities of problems with the lap band. ((GEEZE I HOPE I DONT GET SUED))!!!! So anyway, that is my 10 cents. I hope that helps. Good luck with everything. I hope to see you around and hear more about your journey!
  4. YAY NINA!!! Congrats on getting your date. I just got mine today. I had the same emotions as you. I wish I could do it tomorrow instead of going through 3 weeks of up and down emotions. EEEEKKKK!!! I can't wait to read all your posts and OMG girl....I had a home preschool for 3 years.....and you almost have as many kids as I kept w/o the pay! I can't imagine how great you are going to feel chasing after these rugrats after losing weight! AWESOME!!

  18. You are completely normal. This is a big deal. I don't officially have a surgery date yet, and I have had a few freak out moments. This surgery will completely change our lives in many ways. It would be weird if you were not freaked out a little. I don't know much about you....but I think you will just have to do some soul searching and make sure you are really ready for this. I'm totally ready...I will still have freak outs....but I know...this is really want I want. There are a lot of things I will miss...but I've had almost 38 years of having everything I want..now time to be healthy. Good luck! I hope you find the true answer in your heart. Let us know what you decide!
  19. Thanks so much TreeQueen and Sarah!!!! I will keep everyone up to date
  20. Welcome Stephanie! Can't wait to get to know you! I hope you have an easy time making your decision on which surgery to have. I definitely am against the lap band. Not that it can't change peoples lives...I just think the sleeve or other procedures are much more realistic for the long run. Good luck to you and see you around! These girls and guys are great and full of information!!!
  21. Good luck Sue and Red Shoes!!!! I'm so excited for you two!!!! I can't wait to hear about your journey!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!! Go get em'!!!!!
  22. ROFL!!! Guido! ha ha ha! Hopefully it will just be Friday. I'm just hoping to still get July 22. I start Vet tech classes August 28th and I want to be completely healed before then. I want to be clear to do all I need to do by then. So, that is about 5 weeks from the 22. Ya'll keep your fingers crossed for me! Yeah, I thought it strange that no one else could schedule too! :/
  23. I KNOW!!!!!! Doesn't she know how high maintenance pre ops are???????? She should!!!!! She's been doing this for a while!!! I'm frustrated, but I know this will all happen soon enough! Thanks for the encouragement! At what age do we get patience? Cuz I sure don't have it yet!
  24. My Dr's office manager is on vacation this week and not in to schedule my surgery! How dare she! So I have to wait to Friday or longer to schedule. ugggggg!!!! I'm still hoping to get the 22nd. :/ :/ :/
