Pre Op Diet...Food everywhere!
I just realized I put this in the wrong place. I wanted it in pre-op not post-op. Can I change it?

Pre Op Diet...Food everywhere!
Why is it that the week I am on my pre-op diet is the one week where I have 4 events that I have to be at that involve food?? I will make it through...last night I had a meeting and drank a Protein drink before I left so the food didn't tempt me at all. I can do this! I will do this!!!

I haven't had my surgery yet so I don't know if that will be long enough. I just wanted to say enjoy your day off tomorrow and have a wonderful surgery!

Two days before surgery and STILL EATING
Not sure what to say except that I would call his doctor and ask him. Is he really ready to have this surgery? Does he really want to have this surgery? If he is doing this now what is to say that he will not do the same thing once he is sleeved? The sleeve is only a tool in his weight loss. If he continues to eat empty calories once he is sleeved he won't lose the weight. If he eats things bf he is supposed to after the surgery seriously hurt his sleeve and there could be a leak. He could die from this! I would ask him to seriously think about this and try to understand why he is doing what he is doing and also call the doctor! Good luck!

How long for sugery?
I just realized that with all the questions I have been asking everyone here and elsewhere that I forgot to ask how long the surgery takes! So, how long does it take?

Going Alone to Mexico
No, you are not crazy. My mom is joining me while my husband stays home with the kids. I would have gone by myself if my mom didn't want to come.

Tough Topic
Amanda, thanks for your thoughts. Since I have been reading what everyone has to say I have even started thinking that it would be good to have letter written just because. I could die at any time and I know that there are much greater chances of my dying doing every day things than there are having surgery! The letter would be a nice thing for the kids to have if I ever die! It's just so morbid to think about. Thanks for your thoughts!

Tough Topic
Imawhodat, this is my first surgery ever. I have only told our 20 year old daughter. I decided against telling the 11 and 8 year old until I get home. My 8 year old will worry about me the whole time and has been talking about dying so much lately. I know it's just his age and that fear is normal for him at that age but I don't want him to have to have any concern about me while I am gone. I, too, am so excited about the change this surgery will bring to my life. I cannot wait!

Thanks Crosswind! I was cracking up while reading this...thanks for making me laugh. I feel so much better now that I have the crosswind guarantee! I don't really *think* I am going to die from the surgery, just feeling scared like what if I do? I would feel so sad for my children. But, now that I know I won't die I should be ok! Also, I cannot wait for the drugs to go into lala land! I am not a drug user but I have been told by many that this feeling is wonderful!- Pre-op diet started
Renee`, I read somewhere that we should bring Imodium bc they do not have it in Mexico. I will have some if you need any!- Tough Topic
I want to thank each and every one of you who responded! You don't know how much the things that you have said mean to me. Each of you said something that touched my heart! It is so good to know that I am not the only one who has gone through this! I think I am going to write things down and see if I feel better. I am going to pray more and try not to worry about this any longer. This is such a hard thing to talk about but I already feel better just getting it out. Thank you so much!- Tough Topic
This is a tough topic but I need to talk about it. I am being sleeved on the 24th. I am having the hardest time leaving my children. I am scared that I might die and leave them. I am trying not to dwell too much on this but I know that with any surgery death could happen. I don't feel like I have more of a chance dying being sleeved, it's just that I could die. I could even die on the plane but for some reason that doesn't scare me as much. I think this is even more on my mind because I am going to Mexico and I will be so far away from them, I live in WI. I was wondering how you all are dealing/dealt with this? I was thinking of writing a letter to each of my 3 children and my husband just in case something does happen. But then I think maybe that is too much and I am making a big deal about this. Then again, I am not telling my 2 younger sons I think about how upset they would be if something did happen and I didn't tell them anything. Thoughts??- Getting started
I do not have the answers for you but I wanted to say congrats on getting started on your journey and welcome!- Losing my a**
Remember....no spandex!- 30 Days postOp - The good, the bad and the just ugghsome!
