1. I agree with Michael. You have to be accountable and honest with yourself.

You have made the first step and admitted the grazing.

You have to increase your workouts.

I have noticed that the people that are successful do just that.

They are accountable for there food intake and they burn the equivalent to half of what they consume.

Good luck to you. You had the surgery cause you have the desire, now you just have to have the will to follow through and use the tool you have.

It is very hard. Im no pro just 6 weeks out. I just want to succeed and I know you do too.

  2. @ Jennifer, I didnt gain any weight but lost a little. I didnt try ad lose any during liquids or mushies. Not many diets options beside jello and I just didnt care for it. I like to chew so I got bored with the food options. You will get in the grove once you can get on a regular meals.

Thank You Tanya for the encouragement..

  3. i have had a piece of toast but it scared me the whole time. It wasnt that enjoyable. I am finding Im not enjoying food as much. I dont want to cheat the band. I want to be successful.

I have always wondered why people would even want to cheat the band. We all went thru a lot just to get it, well I did anyhow. I go to support group meetings and one girl told me that she cheated with the band and ended up getting the bypass so that girl went thru two surgeries. Now how stupid is that.......whoops should not have said stupid but that is the way I thought. I did tell her that I have not eaten any bread since my band and she did tell me not to start eating it because that is when it went all down hill for her. So, no bread and I don't miss it one bit. And yes, that first stuck feeling was the worse and scary. I almost had my husband take me to the ER but I just walked and bent over the sink and it finally went down. I am learning to put just a little on my plate even though the fat girl in me is telling me to eat more and I am satisfied. It is amazing how little you eat and feel so full. I love my band and I know it is a life change and when I get those 100lbs off me, it will be wonderful and well worth it. You have a great day and I hope other people read your blog because those who cheat should not even be on here.

    Judy

  4. I discovered also that i love food. i love cooking. I love everything about it. I even record some shows on the food channel. When I can eat more regular stuff i will make sure my meals are worthy of eating.

The liquid diet suks royally :P

  5. I like what qtney1 said you have to do whats right for you. And wont that be a sweet day when you can say I told you so. My husband wasn't to thrilled at first either. But I let him know I wasn't asking for permission. Since then he has been very caring. At first he only thought about how it would effect him. Grant it Im not fun as much fun anymore during mealtime, but I will be a blast in other ways rolleyes.gif

  6. Wow you are on mushies already. I think we have to remember we are not to focus on losing weight now but get used to our band. You are probably retaining alot of fluids and gas still and your weight wont move down. You will lose weight. Just focus on doing what you need to, to heal. Water, rest and fluids. Have you started supplements? Your body might be holding on to the weight for dear life thinking you are in famine mode ohmy.gif

  7.
You are doing awesome. I cant wait to chew some real food. Im not hungry but that is what I miss. Food with substance. I have only been getting about the same calories in between 400 and 700. Just not much I want to eat. Im a carb addict also so that will have to be curbed to be really successful. And its not the good carbs either

I was a little worried that if I blogged about how much that fill hurt I would freak someone out who hadn't had a fill yet LOL... sorry if I did that... It was just kind of unexpected I guess!

I am eating whatever I want.. literally! EXCEPT.. no pop at all. And trust me.. I do want pop.. Pepsi to be precise.. but I haven't had one since the week before my surgery, and it is getting easier. I just eat so much less than I used to. Most meat gets stuck unless it's in sauce of some sort.. or gravy or whatever.. that helps tremendously.. I have been on regular solid food since week two.. my doctor told me to go ahead and advance my diet at that time, but to just be careful.. and eat slowly. That's the hardest part for me.. but I'm getting better at it every day. I make my meals last half an hour easily, and that's really without even trying this past week, because eating slowly helps so things don't get stuck as easily as they did at first. I get between 700 and 900 calories a day in. I've had a few days with more... closer to 1000, but 7-900 typically fills me up very well.

I haven't craved sugar at all (except one day) in the six weeks since surgery. I'm grateful for that.. but I have craved those carbs and also protein. I can't eat much of it, but I love steak, and have it 2 or 3 times a week. I can eat about half of a filet. or around 3 or 4 oz and I'm full. I try not to cook potatoes like I used to, but still do eat them once a week and sometimes twice. Fortunately I can't eat as much of them as I used to either, so I'm not getting as many of the crappy calories that I used to consume.

I'd probably be down twice what I am if I would give up those carbs... and I may still do it~~ I need some more will power.. bad! <img src="http://cdn.lapbandtalk.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" class="bbc_emoticon" alt=":P">
