  1. I totally agree witht he above poster...this is nothing to rush into..It amazes me the number of people who don't research this and then get it and regret it cuz they didn't realize all it entailed and that it's not an easy fix...best wishes on your journey.
  2. Wow..my doctor doesn't even question me...I mean I fill out the survey about eating habits and all but no one ever asks me about it..I am in total control of when I do and don't get fills..not sure if cuz I was private pay..but I just started paying for fills with this last one...it's so interesting how different each doc protocol is.
  3. I was just having this same problem...I did get a fill though and I can definetly tell I needed it..back in the green zone and down 2 pounds already..it seems my band loosens as the day goes and by the time it's really loose i'm going to bed..lol glad about that...I just got the fill on Monday so I have 2 weeks to see if it is ok before I would have to pay for another adjustment...I think I am going to stick this out cuz I have been stalled and then started gaining weight..but I hear u on the loose..tight..business..ugh..why can't it just stay where we want ..lol...oh well I still love my band
  4. i found when i'm in the green zone, my appetite is non-existent! have to make sure i eat something, or i will get sick
  5. i love when i hit the green zone. it still amaze me how my hunger just disappears and i have no interest in food!
  6. if you can keep food down, especially liquids. if you are having pain eating or vomiting with eating. also once i woke up choking cuz i was too tight.

thanks suzbuni! i totally feel you on loving the size 12's! yes we can do this. i got a fill on monday and i was soooo sick yesterday, but i know it's cuz my body had totally slipped into old habits and was used to eating whatever, that when i went on liquids it was in shock. i think my blood sugar must have dropped seriously, i thought i was going to pass out. so since monday i'm down 2 pounds. my band is kinda tight, but i am gonna stick it out and get to that size 10 by august! yes we can do this, please keep me posted on your journey. jennifer

  9. i agree with the bandsters crack comment. i totally revert to the them after a fill or when i'm tight! i use the instant ones that come in a small container.
  10. i have been too tight before and i was unable to even keep down a protein shake. what made me finally go in to get an unfill is i woke up choking on my own saliva.tooo scary!

i have been going back and forth on rather i was gonna blog this today, but i must own up to my failures as well as my successes. well i am going in for a fill today. i got on the scale and it has been slowly creeping up. today it said 210!!! i had gotten to 202..that was from february till now. to some that may seem like not a lot, but mentallu to see that second number as a 1 and not a zero just sent me into a mental place i dont need to be. i just cant believe i let it go this far. i take full responsibility for my weight gain. yes i still was in the gym but my eating habits have become less than desirable..ok let me not sugar coat it..i was down right wrong. now i know i need a fill, but i found myself in the past few weeks thinking..it didnt matter what i ate cuz i was gettn a fill and i would just get back on track then. this is the same thinking that held me captive at a size20!! now my 12's still fit, but i know it's only a matter of time before that changes. i think i blogged this to show myself that even though i am one year post op i still have some mental changing to do when it comes to my weight loss journey. i thought that one year out it would be a walk in the park. i long for the day that i dont have to make a conscience effort to always think about what i am eating for the day. i long for the day that my weight is not always on my mind..but i dont think that day will ever come. so i've come to accept that my way of life is to be constantly aware of my weight and food intake. jennifer
  13. thanks everyone for the advice..i knew i could count on my LBT family to help me out. yeah i used to love shrimp, but my band doesnt like them..boooo
  14. have you tried increasing your protein intake? also are you batteling head hunger. i know at some point all of us do. when i went thru that i made myself drink a full bottle of water before i went to eat something and 9 times out of 10 the hunger went away and i was just thristy..just a thought jennifer
  15. congrats on your up coming surgery. everyone's pain tolerance is different and i'm a big baby so i was in a lot of pain, but only when i got up or down from the couch or when i moved around. it gradually got better. the first 2 days were the worstk but i'd do it again in a heart beat. as far as what you can eat, that may vary from day to day. the band is not really black and white, especially after you start getting fills, one day you can eat something and the very next day you cant as far as eating out.. i never eating anything outside, that i havent tried inside the house, just because i dont want any surprises..lol being nervous is totally natural. i hope you have someone that can help you the first few days to move around. feel free to PM with anyother questions. jennifer
  16. i know that my band will tolerate steak on the day it is prepared, but not the next day, i thought it was just cuz it was microwaved. well i tried to eat some chicken i reheated in the oven and nope!!! not happening. does anyone else have a problem with reheated meats? this could become and expensive problem..ugh
  17. steak the next day is a no no..rice..doughy breads.and my new thing is any reheated meat. ugh!! yep wendys chili is always a go for me too..lol
  18. you go girl!!!!
  19. just a warning. when you get to mushies and soft foods the scale may go up as well. dont be ready to jump off the cliff like i was. it is perfectly normal. we werent made to survive off liquids only so your body is gonna be confused and start holding on to food cuz you've been on liquids. dont panic it's normal. like the above poster said the first 4-5 weeks are about healing not weight loss. be patient( and trust me i know how hard that is), but this is a journey not a race..best wishes on your journey jennifer
  20. Sometimes my band tightens when i'm stress. During TOM..or sick..could any of these be the culprit?
  21. There are some ppl who never have gotten stuck...but it's really self infliction..lol..if I am stuck really bad like eatn a too big bite..then I do have a hard time breathing..I know the food isn't in my windpipe..but it still effects me that way...I do encourage u to try to find ways to relax because when I am stressed it tightens my band...I was terrified of throwing up..but worse case scenario if u get stuck u can always bring it back up...no i'm not advocating throwing up but sometimes that's the only way to get unstuck...walking sometimes helps me...there are different levels of stuck for me..hope I didn't confuse anyone...
  22. Yes kim u made me feel better to..I have been at a plateu for like 5 months as well...although I met my goal size I just can't get passed 40 pounds or hit one derland..I am scheduled for a fill on the 23rd...I still have stuck episodes too..so I'm glad I'm not the only one...I have been goin back and forth of rather I needed a fill...and I will get it now..thanks!
  23. Thanks again guys! Now I'm working towards my last goal of a size 10 by my bday which is the end of august..wish me luck!
