Desired Goal Weight Different Than What Your Doctor Has Set?
My Dr. did not set mine, the nutritionist did. She said I should plan on 180 that my goal of 160 was pushing it. Well, I am now 170 and yes it has slowed down, but I know I will hit 160 or lower. Set your own goal and let your body tell you when you are done.

How Long Before Returning To Work
I went back on day four, was just tired at the end of my day! I am a grocery checker so I am moving all day, I just did not lift anything heavy. Good luck

Hi There!
I took off Monday thru Thursday and was back to work on Friday with no problem. I also have a high pain threshold so I was just a little tired by the end of the day.

Hi There!
I work for Fred Meyer and have Kroger insurance. I did not even have to wait a month from my first appointment to have my lap band surgery, good luck

Guilt :(
I also had some sweet treats this week and the funny thing is that I have been at a stand still with my weight (I am down 132 with 12 left till goal) for about a month, I got on the scale at the gym the next day and was down 1 1/2 pounds! I guess my body wanted more calories! Anyway don't beat yourself up you can and will do this. Things will get easier in a few weeks and all these temptations will be gone. I normally treat myself daily to a skinny cow ice-cream or a 100 cal nabisco snack bag, it keeps me on track and I do not feel deprived. Smiles Brenda

Not Be A Humbug But....
I have had tastes of things because I would rather do that then overdue it later. I lost weight over thanksgiving and I had a little of everything. The lab band does not have to make your holidays different, you just have a little less

I Never Thought I'd Say This But
Been through the same battle and have the same scars and yes I kicked it in the butt also! Would love to have the same surgery done! Last month I went in and had my stoma hernia and incisional hernia repaired and enjoyed my five day hospital stay! I now have enough tummy scars to have a road map! Hope everything goes well

1 Month Post Op
keep up the great work, I guess mens underwear don't come with spandex in them like some of the womens, they stay up better! Keep up the great work, wonderful things are happening for you.

Over One Month Post Opt
I eat small amounts every 2-3 hours. It has worked great for me, you have to do what feels right for your body and your band. Also make sure you are getting lots of protein first when you eat. It keeps you from getting hungry longer. Good luck

Am I Overeating?
Tulip don't eat until you are full, only till you are satisfied. I have never been able to eat that much with my band and have done wonderful. It is hard to learn to stop and know you are satisfied but you can do it. I now stop and dump my food in the disposal so I don't keep eating! Tryna just because you can eat that six inch sub doesn't mean you should. That is a lot to put in your pouch, I do not do bread or potatoes at all. If you have to go to subway get a salad or just eat the inside of the sub. We all got the band for a reason so lets use our tool the way we should. Good luck

What Did I Do??

Recovery..how Long Until I Can Go Back To Work After Lap Band Surgery ?
I went back on day 4. I am a grocery checker and just did not lift heavy things. I was sure tired at the end of my shift and slept good that first week back. That being said I think it depends on the person and how well you handle the surgery. Some need more time then others, I have always been one to bounce back quickly. Good luck

Second Guessing Lap Band Surgery...need Support...
I eat what ever I want! I choose not to eat bread and pasta and have no problems. The only time I had trouble with pbing was the two weeks I was to tight. Any other time I have gotten that stuck feeling it is because I did not chew my food well enough. Your life will go on like normal, you just take a little more time to eat.

Stress Causing Lap Band Restriction And Getting Stuck?
I agree with Beth. That is exactly how I start my day. Hot drinks help open up your band and yogurt is my favorite breakfast!
-
Calorie Question
Eat more! I eat between 1000-1200 a day. You are on the low side, and remember it is not about feeling full it is about being satisfied

7 Days Post-op ... What To Expect Now?
Being 49 is great! (thats where I am) you will do great. I used EAS protein drinks and would heat up the chocolate one like coco. It will not be long and you will be eating and able to get all your protein in. Good luck

Having A Hard Go Of It
Try walking outside, even in the cold it is well worth it. Once you get half way done with your walk you will have to keep going to get home again! Thats how I started and now my walk is up hill 3/4 of the way and does not even bother me. I started out at 304 and very out of shape. You can do this.......

Craving Salads???
I was worried about salads at first, but once I ate one I knew it would be fine. You will find though that if you eat the protein in the salad first you do not have much room left for the lettuce

My Second Holiday Season With "bandolina"
Love your post! I had the toppings off a piece of pizza with my family the other night and my Bandolina told a couple of my other organs to teach me a lesson. All I can say is lesson learned!

December 6, 2011
could it be that you are trying to eat to much? listen to your body and eat slowly, your band will let you know when you are full. Also knowing the difference between wanting more and being satisfied is another big one. It has took me a good six months to realize "hey I do not need to finish this, I am satisfied!" Good luck

Ughhhh Bad Day
Sounds like you are using stress as an excuse to eat what you know you should not. Start keeping healthy things with you so when you want to stress eat you can turn to them. Keep a protein bar in your bag, it is easy to take out and eat and you will be happier with yourself.
