  1. What about hardboiled eggs? They have lots of protein and would fill you up! That is my standard "go-to" food. You can always eat just the whites if you want to save on the fat.
  2. Isn't it wonderful? Congratulations!
  3. Nope, I do not feel it at all. I can feel my port but that is it! Congrats on your surgery.
  4. I am off blood pressure meds and no longer borderline diabetic. Plus, my energy level is through the roof! I can't imagine how I will feel after 75+ more pounds are lost!
  5. fiber gummies (can get them at Walgreens or CVS) and miralax...and at least 100 oz. of water a day.
  6. Shoe size was one of the first things I noticed. I went from a 10W, some 11's to 9.5 or 10 regular width.
  7. Love it...congrats on finding your feet again!
  8. My moms excuse is...well, you blog about it so it is out there anyway. GRRRR.....I didn't send my family links for a reason!
  9. Today was a day I wish I had kept my band a secret. My mom has basically told everyone in my family (even members I haven't spoken with or seen in 20 yrs.). I know she is doing this because she is excited and proud of me but.....this is my journey. I want to tell people in my own time....oh well!
  10. If you use myfitnesspal.com it will actually calculate your BMR and adjust your calories per day (including excersise) if you want to loose 1lb. or 2lbs. per week. I know there are other free sites as well.
  11. There is a risk for Lap-Band too...but, you took the risks and have become a success! Do it for you! You will be a happier wife and mom.
  12. I'd take mine! But, he would have seen my thighs too! I am not shy about showing things I want fixed! You are the one that has to be comfortable during your consult. If it would make you nervous or not truthful with the surgeon then I say do not take him. You can always fill him in on how the consult went. Likewise, if you think it would help you articulate what you want to say....then take him! Good luck. I can't wait to be at the TT stage. Congratulations on your weight loss!
  13. Claudia, you should not be embarrassed. We all suffer from this "over-eating" disease. You are among friends.
  14. The day of my surgery I had an anxiety attack. My surgeon said he would be worried about me if I had no concerns. It has been the best decision I have made for myself in a long time. That being said, you have to do what is right for you.
  15. I'm with stateofZen, whatever will work for you. We are all different and the band works differently for everyone. I can understand wanting the exact calorie counts. Good luck! Let us know how it works.
  16. You are being banded for YOUR health. That is the only thing you need to worry about right now. Focus on yourself. She will probably follow your example when she sees you being successful. I have a family member that was dead against weight loss surgery. Now she has been checking on Lap-Band because she sees how successful I have been.
  17. Jen, that happened to me. The ONLY thing that helped (and I do track every bite and work out every day) was to up my water intake. I drink at least 100 oz. a day (and that is minimum). For some reason it helps my metobolism. Hang in there.
  18. I was banded in April and my signature has a link to my blog. Welcome to the (almost) banded world!
  19. Whoop, Whoop!!! Isn't it wonderful to see the scale go down and not up? I have always lost (or stalled for a few days but never gained). Just follow your surgeons orders. Congratulations!
  20. Hi! I am from Texas also. I was banded April 5th, 2011. It has been the best choice I have made in a long time. This summer I feel the heat is actually manageable. Last summer, I think I melted. Your fear is normal. This is such a great tool. You will love it!
  21. Count every calorie that enters your mouth. I use myfitnesspal.com. I know there are several other sites. That is the only way I can keep myself accountable. That way if I want the cookie, I know how many calories I have left for that day.
  22. Special K has a protein packet you can mix with water too! I forgot about that! And I think it has a color to it.
  23. Pre-op is the hardest part. Being on liquids is brutal. It will totally change after you are banded. Hang in there...it really does get better! But, I agree take out the temtations!
  24. Crystal Light has a hunger satisfaction in Strawberry Banana. It has some protein in it to keep you full (not much, but some). You could smuggle a few of those in and mix them with bottled water.
