Can I Leave The Husband At Home?
Thanks for all the input. My kids are going to be taken care of, my parents are going out of town and are taking the kids with them. I still tried to tell my hubby to stay home, I really don't want to worry about how bored, uncomfortable he is, or if he's eaten. And my hub can be a bit of a complainer! Definitely do NOT want to deal with that. Although he keeps saying i'm crazy and he's going to be there. I still might try to convince him to spend the night elsewhere, because he'll probably drive me nuts. lol

2 Week Diet
I'm on day 4 of the liquid diet. 4-5 meal replacement shakes/day. and 64 oz of water, broth or jello. It's hard! And I've been sluggish. Hoping it gets better and that I feel better. Very low energy.

No Overnight Stay?
I have heard of that, and usually they will come and visit at the hotel. Dr. Thomas Borland in New Iberia, Louisiana does the same thing. They send you with nausea and pain medication, and do several follow ups before you go home!

Did/will You Announce Your Surgery?
My immediate family, and some close friends know, and I told them that I am keeping it on the down low- not going to become a "poster child" for WLS. However, when I start dropping a lot of weight, if there are people that are sincerely wanting to know (possibly thinking about WLS themselves) then I'll be happy to talk about it, in order to share with them what helped me. But I feel the same way, I do not want my weight loss to be a topic of discussion on facebook, or anywhere else, It's really nobodies business, but if they can be helped by me sharing my story, I will certainly share

Can I Leave The Husband At Home?
I forgot to say that he would drop me off and pick me up. He will stay if I want him to, but I really am thinking I'd rather him be with the kids. I'll have lots of help by the nurses. (we have small kids)

Can I Leave The Husband At Home?
I'm having the surgery 2 hours away at a hospital, will stay 2 nights, and am seriously considering asking husband to stay home with the kids and take care of them, and let the nurses take care of me. Any thoughts?

12 Year Old Gastric Sleeve Patient
The video looks like the girl was extremely happy, said she enjoyed her weight loss, and was very happy. So I don't see the problem as long as the PARENTS and the CHILD come to a decision together! That being said, personally, I wouldn't agree to let my child do it until they were older because of the risks of surgery. But if HER parents were okay with it, I think they made the right choice, she is well and happy, and looks like it improved her life quite a bit.

I Can't Do This I Need Support
You are NOT a loser! Sounds like you had a low blood sugar crash. Call your doctor and tell them what happened! You can do this! DId you go from a morning shake all the way to 2pm without anything else but water? That would definitely cause a sugar crash. The pre-op diet is low carb, and will get all the sugar cravings out of your body by day 3, if you can make it till them, you will be fine! HANG IN THERE!!!

16 Mos Out...disappointed
thank you so much for your honesty. This is really good information for people who haven't been sleeved yet. The surgery is a great help, but not a cure all. Thanks again! And I look forward to how the psychologist sessions go.

Bombarded!
I'll also add, that this friend hasn't really spoken to me in years until he started selling this stuff, and now he all the sudden wants to talk to me and try to sell it to me. (was probably trying to think of all his friends who were overweight!) Anyway, if I thought there was a weight loss fad out there, trust me, I'd do it, and I might lose the weight, but give me a couple years, and it will be right back on. I feel that I need the surgery to help me keep it off for life. I do not want to be on pills/supplements for life, and I am not one that wants to go to the gym all the time, I work full time, and have two small children who want me at home when I'm not at work. Exersize will consist of what I can do with them at home, or around the block. I can't go to the gym that he works at 40 miles away. This surgery is not a whim decision that I've made. I've been thinking about it for about 2 years now and feel that it is right for me. I ignored him on FB and he seems to have gotten the hint. I did tell him though, that if I hit a stall, I would contact him and see if he could help me get over the stall.

Bombarded!
I'm being bombarded by a friend who is a fitness trainer and now selling weight loss supplements. He is REALLy trying to convince me not to do this surgery that he can have 80 lbs off of me by December. It's really frustrating me because he knows nothing about the surgery, has done ZERO research on it, and it sitting here telling me that I don't want to do it, it is a mistake! What does he know?! He just wants me to buy his stuff and hire him as a trainer! I'm starting to get ticked. Hate when friends bombard me like that.

So Disappointed!
there is a surgeon in New Iberia, Louisiana that does it for $9800. I can't remember his name!! google it and you'll probably come across it. I was going to use him, but ended up getting insurance that covered it, so going closer to home now.
