  1. That is awesome! Congratulations :Banane44:
  2. Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. It felt really odd to not be eating much. I had about three spoons of mashed potatoes and maybe an oz of turkey with gravy. Luckily my family all knows and everyone just acted like it was the most normal thing to be eating less than my 2 year old I lost 2.5 pounds this week. I am still only able to consume the smallest amounts of food. Kind of a double edged sword-I think it is helping me to lose fast, but I am in a constant state of hunger :hurt: and every time I do eat, it feels uncomfortable, which makes me really not want to eat at all. Of well, just looking toward the day I eat 4 oz of food and feel ok. Have a great week. You guys are awesome! Cherice
  3. You might want to cut your calorie intake a bit. You seem like you are eating a lot. I generally consume about 500 calories a day-maybe 750 on a rare heavy day and I am about a week and a half behind you. Definitely cut the sweets and alcohol.
  4. I am 8 weeks out and I crave carbs as much as ever. I will also say that my sister had gastric bypass and she craves carbs as much as ever. Tiffany is right. Cravings are mental and you shouldn't go into this thinking surgery will fix that or you will be very disappointed.
  5. Hi all...I have a good week and lost 3.5 pounds. Hope everyone has a great turkey day! Cherice
  6. Other than the protein shakes sounds about right. Yes, if you are eating 1000 calories and a protein shake it might be too much, but they really saved me.
  7. Try Lipton cream of Chicken soup. Very low carbs/fat. I also ate Greek yogurt mixed with sugar free flavored syrups. The fruit would have been too much and regular yogurt has way too many carbs.
  8. Don't worry Julie...you will lose it next week! Well, I am a little late, been sick in bed. I am down 1.5 pounds this week, which seems to be about normal for me. Cherice
  9. Hi there...well I lost 4 pounds last week. A pretty big loss for me and not typical so far. Finally doing better with food. I tried quite a few things this week and everything stayed down fine. I am starting to track calories/fat/carbs just to make sure I am not too out of whack. It is tough because I am eating 1/2 a scrambled egg and 3/4 of a piece of cheese-makes the calculations more time consuming. I don't think I will worry about it daily, but I do want to stay in tough with my consumption. I made an appointment with a personal trainer for this week so I am excited about that. I don't want to be a big flabby mess so hopefully he can help me out I hit hit two milestones this week. Busted out of the 200s (woohoo) and I have officially lost 1/3 of my weight loss goal. Have a great week and keep losing! Cherice
  10. I understand. I have been pretty slow introduce foods because my sleeve is a little tight. Try to introduce a new food everyday. You need to get some "safe" foods that you can eat at work. This week I have started making a smoothie for breakfast and taking it to go. It is really working out well (Greek yogurt for protein, fat free milk, frozen strawberries, sweet and low packet). I also make sure to keep applesauce, pudding, and jello there. For lunch I have been eating a baked potato with cheese, chili, or cup of soup. It has been ok. You might want to try some fruit cups (no sugar)-peaches are probably easiest. Good luck!
  11. 40 BMI is their standard. You shouldn't have any problems.
  12. I had to share my big news. As of this morning I am down to 199 pounds! So excited to be out of the 200s :Dancing_wub:
  13. Does anyone have any good smoothie recipes? I'd like to give one a try, but don't really know where to start.
  14. Be aware...it has Chromium in it, which may not make it compatible with other medications http://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/chromium/
  15. Happy Monday! Doing good. I lost 4 pounds last week, but my big turning point was being able to drink Water yesterday without feeling like I was going to toss my cookies! Hoping I can continue to drink water since I don't really like crystal light. Still struggling a lot with food. I am cleared to eat anything, but most of it comes up so I have to stick with liquids and super soft foods for the most part. That really sucks. The worst part-I am starving all the time! When is the hunger supposed to subside? Did have a "stomach acid attack" on Thursday so I have add to double my dose of prilosec and it is still a little over active. Everyone is doing awesome. I am jealous of the foods you all are eating. I wanted to rip a piece of pizza out of my husbands hand yesterday
  16. Anyone know how long it lasts? I've gotten pretty self conscience about talking to people.
  17. I can totally relate. I have already gone down a bra size
  18. Happy Monday! Well, my weight loss has been super slow. I lost 2 pounds last week, but untold inches because I am going through clothes like crazy. Not sure what that is about. I went to Jc Penny and bought a couple of sweaters and long sleeved t-shirts and for the first time in a long time I was not in the fat girl section!!! It felt so awesome to just buy and XL when a month a go I was wearing a 2X. I am not really exercising. Doc asked me to wait 6 weeks since my consumption is low. I also joined a brand new gym and it won't be open until next week so that works out well. I should be walking, but now that I am back to work I don't have time. I leave the house at 6:30am and don't get home until 6pm and I don't feel safe walking in the dark. Once the gym opens, I be going in at 4:30am. It's going to be fun :party4: I know I am not consuming enough food. We (doc and I ) came to the conclusion that my sleeve is "extra" tight since I can't tolerate much at all. I have gotten so gun shy at eating since it so often doesn't agree with me. Doc said we could dilate my sleeve to make it bigger, but I don't really want to. I am afraid if we make it bigger now, it will eventually be too big and I will be able to eat too much. So I am coping, by eating a lot of very soft foods still. The only thing I added this week was chili and it went down fine. Oh, I also had a ravioli. It felt so odd cutting a freaking ravioli into four parts and eating it. My husband ate a whole plate in the time it took me to get down the one ravioli  Other than that, everything is going good. I see everyone is losing like crazy and it is awesome. I am enjoying my shrinking body!
  19. Happy Monday ladies! Well, the past week I have improved alot. I am feeling better since I got anti-nausea medicine from my doctor last Wednesday. Eating and drink has been easier and I have introduced a few new foods to my new tummy. I plan to keep it up this week and add one or two things My weight loss has been 1 freaking pound this week, which would really piss me off if I didn't know this kind of stall is normal. The good news is I have lost a lot of inches. Not sure how many, but I am wearing clothes that have not seen daylight in 2 years so I think it is up there. I am 2 days shy of 4 weeks post op and going back to work today (1/2 days this week). Kind of nervous. I have actually really enjoyed my time home, which surprised me since I am kind of a workaholic. But...it is back to the real world. All of my immediate co-workers know I have WLS so it should be ok. Hope everyone has a great week!
  20. Have you talked to your doctor? I was feeling queasy all the time and was given and anti-nausea medicine which really helped. Could it be acid? Are you taking an anti-acid of some kind? This is a huge change and it is made harder when you don't feel well. Now that my acid and nausea is under control and I am feeling much better. Don't suffer!
  21. I am 3.5 weeks out and really have no desire to eat. Yesterday I had 4 club crackers with cream cheese around 10am and then a protein shake made with fat free milk at 7pm. That was it for the day. I know I should be eating more, and I am actually a little hungry, but don't really feel like eating. How much are people really eating at this point?
  22. I was in a stall for 7 days (from 2.5-3.5 weeks post surgery). Finally today I dropped a pound so hopefully things will stat happening again. If I didn't know it was normal I would have been upset. It is, what it is. Just hang on. It will pass.
  23. I was told not to take Tums-can't recall why, but I thought they weren't good for you. I took chewable Maalox and and now on Prilosec twice a day and doing good, but I had big issues in the beginning. Maybe you need a different ant-acid? Talk to your doc about it. You do have to drink slowly or it will come up and that is normal. Sip, sip, sip. I am a week ahead of you and still pretty much on the same diet you are so I wouldn't be too concerned. BTW, V8 Splash is probably not that good for you if you are having acid issues. It is probably making it worse.
