  9. Okay, my insurance gave me my an approval August 4th. My surgeon's nurse called me yesterday with a pre-op test date of August 27th and a appt with the surgeon on September 21st. I told the nurse how happy I was because my insurance told me my date will be September 30th. She laughed and explained to me that was a dummy date that placed on everyones UHC paperwork and that I would be lucky to have my WLS at the end of October. I started to cry (yes I'm little emotional) I told her that this was crazy my last PCP appt was July 13th and I gave them all my paperwork for my insurance company on July 16th what happened. Her only explaination was that I should not have followed up with my insurance company and that I should have waited until I received a call from their office and my paper was not sent to my insurance company until July 29th this is why they tell patients it takes 15-20 days for an approval to give them time to set up appts. I shoot back at her saying " so basically you already new a head of time that you were not going to schedule me until October" what a bunch of croc!!! Does anyone one know if I can take my approval to another hospital? or Am I stuck with SLOW POKE GONZALEZ?:svengo::svengo: Thanks if it was not for this site I would have lost my mind a long time ago
  10. Hey! I completly understand, I've had an hysterectomy, thyroid cancer twice both major surgeries and I had the same feelings prior to both. Now I'm having WLS and those feelings of death are coming back. All I can say is have faith in God and trust in your surgeon this is what help me through my prior surgeries and my pending WLS.:thumbup:
  11. Weclome Kimmie, I've not started the pre-op testing yet I can not wait. I plan on taking 6 weeks off from work to help me get use to the new stomach and eating habits. Also, I have not told anyone at work that I'm having WLS surgery so I want return with a normal diet. (240 no one believes you should have WLS comments from work "your not big enough to have that surgery" ) Anyway Welcome and I look forwarded to reading your post updates:thumbup::thumbup:
  12. Thanks, I hope my date will be coming soon!
  13. I'm so excited my insurance company has approved me, I called them today because I could not wait for them to call me. My excitment was short lived after I called my surgeons coordinator with the news, she sound like she was upset that I called my insurance company (maybe because she said it would take 15 days for an answer) any way I ask she start my pre-op testing I have not received a call back with my appt. dates. I did not know you would be on a emotional roller coaster just trying to have the SURGERY. What will my life be like after my surgery????:confused1::svengo::crying:
  14. Good Luck with your loan, what a emotional roller coaster....Keep your head up. I'm still waiting to hear from my insurance company and I fear they will say the same thing.:001_tongue:
  15. Don't let this get you down, I know you can get you numbers up and keep your surgery date. Keep your head up, don't cry...:001_tongue::thumbup:
  16. Great news! :thumbup1:Good luck:lol0:....still waiting on my approval. Like you I want to end the health problems...my VSG will my last major surgery I hope and on to healthy living.:thumbup1::thumbup1:
  17. You can have your regular therpist write a letter on your behalf then give this to the surgeon's theripist, you have to disclose your meds. I live with depression and told the surgeon's therpist what meds I was taking. Also, I gave her a letter from my regular therpist along with the results from my one hour pysch. test I was only in her office for 15 mins. She reported that I was mentally stable for surgery. I hope this helps with your next visit :thumbup1:
  18. I'm at a loss as well. If you were 180 with a 6 foot frame, you were already in the "normal" BMI range. Why would ANY surgeon do any type of weightloss surgery on you I'm curious.:thumbup1::confused1:
  19. Thanks! Good Luck with Weight Watchers, writing down everything I eat and being honest about it helped me loss the 10lbs. The one thing I've learned going through this process is what causes my eating, I'm a grazer I don't eat alot of food at one time it,s small meals all day long WOW The next three months I will work on three meals a day with a snack, maybe waiting this long is a good thing...but if they gave me a date tomorrow I would take it...lol:001_rolleyes::thumbup:
  20. Thank you for the step by step:thumbup:
  21. Thanks, we can do this! I've lost the required 10lbs my fear is gaining it back before I can have my surgery if that happens my PCP will cancel my surgery this is what my insurance rep. told me over the phone, TALK ABOUT STRESS!!!!!:eek::eek:
  22. Time off work is based on the individual, I plan on taking 5 weeks off from work one reason my company will pay me for it and the second reason is I would like to stay home and get use to the new stomach and eating habits that come with it. Hope this helps!:lol0:
  23. Pleas help I've been trying for a week now to add my weight tracker to my signature. I keep getting a Invalid File message. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong I have gone to three different sites they will not upload to my signature. Thanks :confused1::confused1:
  24. Donna, My friend and co-worker came back to work two weeks ago after her WLS surgery she has lost 33 lbs and she's wearing smaller clothes. No one said anything to her at all, but in the break room I heard comments like she totally cheated; you know she had that WLS she could not have done this on her own. When she ask me had I heard anything I told her you know how stupid people in our department can be she was really hoping they notice and said something about her weight loss as they did in the pass when she was on WW. Anyway to make a long story short, I told her she looked great and I can not wait to get a date for my surgery...soon I hope. Then I proceed to give the gossips a piece of mind, explaining how WLS is not the easy way out it's hard work something they would know nothing about.
  25. I'm glad you are doing well and have many to support you through this journey. Congrats! :thumbup:on the weight loss
