  1. Shopping at Jcpenney has helped, last week I purchased six sweaters for 4.97 a piece. I know this is crazy but I've purchased a pair of black pants and one pair of jeans keep changing my shirts this takes me through work week and weekend. I've also purchased a few dresses, and a black skirt. Again I know this is crazy but I can not afford to keep buying clothes every month and no one at work can tell I'm wearing the same pants or skirt. Buying new underwear has been easy I only go were I have a coupon or they are having a buy one get one sell.
  2. Hang in there it will get better, I'm four months out and gulping Water all the time now. I did have crying moments of what have I done my first month, but like you said the 20lb weight lost can make you feel better. Take Care
  3. If you never had surgery before I can understand you wife's fear. Also, your eating habits may have been the same and I know couple eating is fun and becomes your comfort zone in your relationship. Give her time she may come around, maybe ask her to go to a group session or on a doctor visit. I hope you can work through this with your wife, I love my sleeve since hitting Onederland I feel fantastic. Good Luck
  4. I sooooooooo know how you feel I look forward to my chocolate calcuim chews everyday.
  5. United Healthcare is outstanding, I cried when I got that call. I took another month for me to get a date, but it was well worth the wait. I'm currently 4 months post op Good Luck
  6. Yes it's all in your head, old habits die hard trust I know. I've been graving sweets like crazy and since sweets have no nutrienal value your body does not require sweets to thrive. So when my head graves sweets I indulge my brain by eating a sweet for example half a slice of key lime pie or very small piece of cake etc. Our sleeve is to help us meet our goal of getting to a healthy weight so if you can handle just a taste of something sweet I say go for it, but if a small taste will not satisfy your graving I suggest you visit you support group for other options. Good Luck cupz622' timestamp='1298852665' post='121160'] For the past few weeks, the urge to have something sweet has been getting stronger. I figured maybe it was that I wasn't getting all my nutrition in so I upped my Protein intake. I've begun to drink more Water and I've been working out and strength training fairly good (almost 1.5 hrs every day). So why am I feeling like I want to take a pack of double stuffed oreo's and just jam them into my mouth? It's like I need to have something sweet, and if I don't, I go stir crazy. Is there something I need to switch up perhaps. Or is it all in my head?
  7. Has your doctor been talking to my doctor. My schedule is crazy because I need to take synthroid due to no thyroid gland. Since synthroid absorbs vitamins it get complicated. So I take celebrate muti complete, probiotic eating yogurt everyday, Iron w/ C tablets and I have to wait one hour before taking any vitamins in the morning. Morning I take muti vitamin and b-12 Afternoon chewable calcuim chocolate w/ chewable iron w/ C table its my snack Before bed I take Biotin, second muti vitamin Went to see my doctor and my vitamin levels were great, I hope this helped [quote name='Sassy' timestamp='1298317261' post='119018' HI, I bought all my vitamins and by all I mean I have to take: Vitamin C Zinc Iron Probiotic Calcium Biotin Multi-vitamin Omega 3 Fish oil B-12 That is a a lot! More then many people I hear, but this is what my Dr, ordered so I am trying to follow orders. My problem is I cannot take the multi-vitamin within 2 hours of the Calcium. But I have to take both the multi-vitamin and the calcium 3 times a day. I am forgetting to take them on the schedule and now I am not getting in all my calcium and multi-vitamins. I have a baby to take care of and I've tried to set a timer, but I am forgetting to do that too, sometimes. Is there any vitamins in calcium or multi, that you can only day one time a day. I am taking Celebrate vitamins for both my calcium and my multi, and I can swallow pills, I don't have to use chewables. Thanks
  8. I agree Zumba in person is the best [quote name= 'BZButterfly79' timestamp=1298420817' post='119487] I originally got the Wiii Zumba and decided to trade it for the xbox kinetic Zumba, well...all I can say is that the reviews on Amazon were right, the sensor does not really follow you, like I'll walk off and go get a glass of Water and the thing is still saying: "Looking hot! You got it!" LOL seriously if i didn't love the latin beats I would go crazy, cause even if I don't follow her moves I still do my own and I am still burning calories. Dance Central is by far the best when it comes to accuracy and making you wanna reach those levels, BUT nothing beats my Zumba at the Y! Live is best!
  9. Thanks, I never thought in a million years I would hear these type of comments. Green eyed monster I'm sure.
  10. Big Hugs to you....Regarding the hair loss sorry I can not help you I cut all my hair off prior to surgery (Nov 8) than started wearing a wig that I will remove this summer. After dealing with my thyroid cancer, I thought why not get a jump start this time around. Regarding your Vitamins I've been taking Celebrate baritric vitamins since surgery the chewables and they have not upset my stomach and they taste really good. Try visiting celebrate.com Keep your chin up, focus on your great weight loss not the hair. Take Care
  11. Hello Everyone! I love my sleeve! It has been 3 months and I've lost 50lbs WOW it feels so strange to see that number in print. My surgeon is very happy with my weight loss and my pcp is doing back flips no more blood pressure pill, diabetic meds. etc. Now can anyone help me with the opinions of others around me, for example: You've lost your shape? You do not need to get any smaller? You do not need to go to the gym that's why you had surgery? And the list goes on, I've responded to these individuals by saying "If I did this for you your opinion would matter, since this was my life's decision I will follow the goals I've set" And now I've been told by the same friends that I have changed and I have a bad attitude that I think I'm better then they are etc. Now I have to find new friends to hang out with and going shopping by myself is no fun but non of my old friends will go with me. How did this happen I've supported all of my friends through all of their weight loss journey and now not one can give me support. If it wasn't for this site I would not have anyone to share my ups and downs. Does anyone have suggestions on how to handle the opinions of so called friends? or Am I being overly emotional regarding the whole matter? I even had a friend tell me she'll hang out with me after she loses ten lbs. WTF! Anyway thanks for letting me vent and if you live in Cleveland or Copley Ohio send me a email alexayo2me@yahoo.com Take Care
  12. Good Luck, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers

  14. Although I'm not sure how you would gain weight on a liquid diet, tell your friend starting today to follow all of her surgeons instructions and focus on drinking tons of Water. I was not weighed the day of my surgery, but they do want your liver as small as possible and I've heard of surgeons stopping the surgery if things to do not look right when they go in.
  15. It's been 3 months since I was sleeved and prior to surgery I only told two co-workers and I did not tell my mom or sisters until I was in my room recovering at the hospital only because I knew my family was going to be very negative and I only wanted positive thoughts going into surgery. Like you I'm a terrible liar so I thought after surgery if any would ask about my weight I would tell them the truth. So back to your question, my mom was more supportive then I thought she would be and my sisters were very happy for me so I wish I would have told them sooner. My disadvantage came when I returned to work and one of the co-workers I told about my surgery spread it through out the office, I thought I could trust her. Now I'm the topic of conversation at work with statements "like she cheated" and "she was not that big in the first place." So my advice would be tell your family and friends when your comfortable, but expect everyone to have an opinion positive and negative. Hope this helped, good luck with your upcoming surgery
  16. OUTSTANDING! The time will fly by, good luck
  17. I had the same pain so I filled my scripe for my ppi and after taking my ppi for two days the pain went away. So basiclly it's trapped gas trying to get out. Hope this helps
  18. Vicki it was explained to me by my surgeon that the higher your bmi the more weight you will loss in the first two months, those with a lower bmi may loss weight slower. Maybe speak to your nutrionist regarding your food intake and calorie intake.
  19. So sorry for your loss, I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Please continue to sip your fluids and get in your protein you will need this in order to have the strength to make it through this troubling time.
  20. Great Job! Keep up the good work
  21. Thanks everyone for the congrats, I love this forum if I could not post here I would have no one to share my good news with. My friends right now do not want to hear about my weight loss it's great to be able to share and read about others successes.
  22. I weighed in this morning and I've reached onederland, I have not seen a one on the scale for years. If feels so good, thank you sleeve.
