  1. I was the same. I tried to talk myself out of it as it got closer and was pretty nervous about the surgery as my extra weight had given me high blood pressure, etc. Anyway....it was a breeze. I am now 9 days Post Op and was actually surprised it was not as bad as expected and the doctor, nurses, etc. were amazing. Have faith -- you will be fine and will be feeling and moving better in no time. I am down 26 pounds since I started my preop diet, but still have a long way to go. Hang in there!
  2. I purchased BLIS insurance. This is insurance for WLS patients. You may want to check into this. My doctor's office offered it, but possibly it could be found online.
  3. WOW! WHAT AN AMAZING DIFFERENCE. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR SUCCESS!

  11. I know how you feel as I was scheduled for surgery in December and arrived at the hospital that morning, but was sent home due to chest congestion and cough. I was not able to reschedule until April so had to wait four months. I know it is disappointing, but the time will pass quickly. I was disappointed, but also knew that I wanted to be healthy when I had surgery in order to recover as quickly as possible.
  12. Had my surgery April 13. so I am now 4 days post op. No nausea and am really surprised it was not as difficult as I expected. My tummy is sore, but I am not having any problem getting my fluids in. I will work on getting more protein next week. Congratulations and best wishes to all of us starting this journey to a healthier, happier, can sit on the floor and get up life! Renee
  13. Just wanted to check to see if diarrehea gets bad enough I can take something at Day 4 Post Op?? So far I'm making it to the bathroom, but almost didn't!! Thanks for any suggestions. Renee

  15. I had surgery on Wednesday and I was told the day after surgery is Day 1 Post Op. Hope all of new sleevers are doing well. I am having some pain, but not much. I'm sleeping in the recliner so I don't have to climb the stairs. Also, I wanted to share an experience I had in the hospital to anyone who has not been sleeved. My surgery was at 7:30 a.m. and I felt pretty good when I got to my room. Most of the day was spent resting and walking some, but I had my morphine pump. I didn't think I had much gas as I was not burping or anything. Anyway.....about 10:00 p.m. I crawled back into bed after a short walk and decided to put the head of my hospital bed back as I had been sitting up all day. OH MY GOD - gas pains hit my chest and shoulders so bad that I could hardly push the button for the nurse. When she came in I was crying "put my bed up, put my bed up" like a maniac!! Needless to say, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT put your bed back to the horizontal position so soon after surgery. Other than that, I think I'm going be fine. That night I thought I was dying!!
  16. Congratulations! You look truly amazing. You must be soooo proud of yourself!!
  17. Hope you are feeling better soon. Hang in there...know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Renee
  18. Just checking to see what everyone thinks about surgical complication Protection. My doctor offers coverage for 90 days for Cardiopulmonary, Thromboembolic, Bleeding, Infection, Leak, Perforation and Stenosis/Stricture for a cost of $1,435. I am self-pay so am considering it, but honestly I'm scrapping to come up with the funds for the hospital/doctor bill. Just not sure I can swing another $1435, but wondering if I'm stupid not to purchase it. Any thoughts on this....
  19. You do look amazing. You must be sooo proud of yourself. You are truly an inspiration!
  20. I'm right there with you. Looking forward to surgery, but somewhat apprehensive. I'm scheduled for April 13 and weigh about the same as you. Let's stay in touch and encourage each other. It will be good to have a sleeve sister!

  23. You all are truly amazing! It really helps to "see" what a profound affect this surgery can have. I am getting ready to reschedule my surgery (first time around surgeon canceled as I had a really bad cold and they sent me home). Can't wait to get started on my journey and hopefully have some pics to share like yours one day!! Thanks for sharing!!
  24. Congratulations Dawn! You are an inspiration to many of us! Keep working that sleeve.
