Of Egg Salad and Muscle Relaxers
Hey Virginia. I have been having that pain in my left side too. I called the doctor on Monday and nurse said it sounds muscular. I have been taking Tylenol and sleeping with a heat pad on my left side. It seems some better, but I am still concerned. Not sure what to think...... I was getting along so well, and now I seemed to have had a set back as I really don't feel great and am trying to work on top of it. Hope for you and me both, we are feeling better soon.

Pain in Side? Not sure what to think....
Thanks for your help. It sounds logical, especially since I have been coughing this weekend. I also wondered if it could be constipation pain.

Pain in Side? Not sure what to think....
I woke up this morning with a pain in my left side. Sort of like a stitch in my side. I came down with a cold and was coughing really bad on Friday night, but it is better. Still coughing some, but it is definitely better. Not sure what to think about the pain in my left side. Could this be gas pain? Do I need to call the doctor? Thanks for any advice.

Healthy Eating for April Sleevers
It's weird how all doctors are different on their plans. I would try warm liquids. My first week postop I drank hot herbal tea, warm chicken broth and Protidiet Hot Cocoa a bunch. The warm seemed to help sooth and just went down better.

Need Medical Advice
Thank you all for your help. I did take some Robitusson DM Cough Syrup and it seemed to help. Hopefully I am on the upswing.

Need Medical Advice
I am 16 days post op and have come down with a terrible cold. I have been coughing some the last couple days, but tonight I have started coughing really bad. I am concerned it might cause a leak in my staple line. Should I be concerned? Can I take cough medicine? Any advice would be appreciated.

Healthy Eating for April Sleevers
Stacy - it gets better as time goes by. I am 16 days post op and I am not having any trouble eating at this point. When I was just a week post op I could start on a few solids, i.e. refried Beans, scrambled egg, tuna salad, thin deli meat. I would only eat a few bites and be done. Now I am eating more. I think you just need time to heal. Renee

Choices
I had been looking at WLS for several years and initially thought about the Band. However, I did not like the idea of something foreign in me and the doctor's visits to get fills to keep your restriction (or unfills if they put too much in). Also did not like the idea of intestines rerouted with RNY. I am two weeks post op and it has been a breeze. Some soreness, but really surprised it was not worse. I'm ready to get my life back! Best of luck to you. Renee

Happy Dance!!!
I just wanted to share that I have reached my first major goal---I'm under 300 lbs! I was sleeved on April 13 -just 2 weeks ago, and have lost 36 pounds (including 21 on post op liquid diet). Can't hardly believe that I am 36 pounds lighter than I was one month ago!!! Ya Hoo!!! I have a long way to go, but I actually believe I will get there. I was really nervous about having the surgery, but it was a breeze and I am feeling stronger everyday. Thank you all for your support. Renee
