  1. Ann - I gagged on everything too. The only ones I could somewhat tolerate were "Flavorless" Any whey which I added to smoothies, yogurt, cooled hot cocoa and unjury chicken Soup. How far out are you? What drinks/powders have you tried? I could better give tips if I knew more.
  2. AMEN! I felt the exact same way. I was sure I would be the failure. But, with a little committment on your part, you can be successful!
  3. I don't think I saw your height. With muscle, would this be in the "normal" weight range for you? I agree, you should be seeing a nutritionist. Eating only 1000 calories a day, your body should be losing - I don't think even in starvation mode your body can/should be able to hold onto excess weight.
  4. I'm sorry to hear that it has been so hard for you. I, luckily, didn't have nausea past the 1st week, but I know it's the pits. Also, depression seems to be the norm for those a month or so out. Glad to see that you are seeking help for the hydration - that is very important at your stage. Besides the good advice from those above, the best advice I can give is to give yourself time. You will start feeling much better as each day passes. Buyers Remorse is very normal at this stage. But, at 2 months, 3 months, 4 months, etc ... you won't regret it. You will be losing weight, feeling better, and learning just how all this works. Your body is going through a lot. Give it time to catch up with your head and heart. <<<<< HUGS >>>>> to you. Please let us know if we can help. We are good listeners!
  5. You look so happy and fabulous! Remember when you were worried if this was going to work for you? Guess it did! Congratulations!
  6. I saw the subject and thought maybe it was a pre-op on a Last Supper fit .... whew! You got me good!
  7. Congratulations! You have done very well. I did not use him, but I've heard great things about Dr. Billings. Keep us updated on your progress and TT options.
  8. Good luck to you ... best wishes for a speedy recovery. Keep us posted on your progress!
  9. I definitely agree ... this was the best. I added it to yogurt, pudding, oatmeal, warm cocoa, etc. I ordered it from Amazon at a good price.

Thanks. I'm excited to get a bit of color and strut my stuff at the pool!
  11. There is a lot of debate about boughie size and stitching technique. Everyone seems to lose equally well with 32-40, but regain seems to be a potential issue for larger sizes. I don't think it really matteres male or female ... What's important is that the larger the boughie or loose stitching can leave more stomach that is stretchy. Overtime, this can (theoretically) cause more stomach capacity. On the other hand - too small of a stomach can cause a stricture (or bend) in the stomach that requires another procedure to correct. I was a "tight" 36. I've done great at the weightloss and seem to be doing ok with maintenance. Can definitely eat more than I could the first few months, but still can't eat a whole hamburger (even the kids fast food ones). I say talk to your doctor and listen to his reasons/experience. Together, make a decision on what size you feel comfortable with getting.
  12. I'm glad you made it through the appointment ... sorry you have to deal with this. You are almost there!

Here's what I ended up buying ... Look pretty good in them too (if I do say so myself)! Once I have a tan, I'll post pictures. No way will I inflict this white body on you gals! 14. LOL - I was starting to feel guilty about it ... but you noticed, not guilty enough to change it!
  15. I love the Thomas Thin Bagels. Costco even sells them now.
  16. Like the others have said, sounds completely normal to me. I've gone to eating a quarter of a burger (or just the patty) to being able to eat 1/2 bun & patty at McDs. <-- Not the best choice, I know - but sometimes a burger just tastes good!
  17. Thanks everyone! This is such a great group ... Now I don't have to change my signature line.
  18. My nut said no straws, but the nurse gave me one right in the recovery room. She agreed with Rootman - BS on the whole air thing. They were the ONLY way I got liquids in those first few weeks. What does your surgeon say?
  19. The meat may have been a bit much this early out. Beef is hard on some people. Something that was suggested for me early in the pureed process was mac-n-cheese. Yes, it sounds disgusting. But is was surprisingly tasty after haivng only liquids. Make mac-n-cheese as normal, but add a little extra milk and put in the blender. Applesauce with a little unflavored Protein powder is also a good choice. Best of luck!
  20. If he starts to yell, calmly remind him that you are paying for this visit. As a consumer (and as a human being) being yelle at is no way to ensure repeat customers! Say that you appreciate the counseling on the weight and that you need his help to jump through the insurance process. Good luck!
  21. Have you thought of trying eBay? You would reach a larger audience that way & have some "safety" in using PayPal. Just a thought.
  22. Yes - you will lose more weight. The big first stall has got hold of you ... but continue what you are doing & it will come off. We've all been there, had the frustration, and TOTALLY understand your frustration. It will start moving again!!!
  23. 127.4 today. Yeah!!!!!
