What makes you happy?
I find that being able to get up after sitting is a wonderful thing,. The knees pain is so much better. I do not breath as hard after a walking a few steps. That's a winderful thing. Being able to wear an x-L in a shirt instead of a 3-X is a wonderful thing. Taking only one blood pressure pill instead of 2nd a winderful thing. My list could go on for a long time as I am sure others lust could also. I have lost 50 lbs so far and I am feeling WONDERFUL! Lap band was the best thing I could have ever done for me!

WHO IS HAVING A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE WITH THEIRS?
I was banded on February 23 and I have lost 45 pounds to date. I am very happy with my weight loss fo far. I have been walking and riding the exercise bike 3-4 times a week and I feel wonderful. I I try to choose healthy choices when selecting my meals. I eat around 1/2 cup meal serving at my lunch and dinner. I also have a snack in the afternoon and evening. I would have the lab band surgery again in a heartbeat.

Im having surgery on the 26th April
All doctors are not the same in their requirements for a pre op diet. My doctor just had me follow a high protein and low carb diet a week before survey. I decided to try some of the protein drinks before hand and lost 12 pounds in a very short time. Check with your doctors office to see what they suggest. Good luck !

surgery in 4 days and I blew the pre-op diet
I also have problems with my knees. I had a knee replacement one one knee three tears ago. The other one was hurting me a lot and I knew if I did not do something about my weight I was going to end up in a wheel chair just like my mother. Ii do not want my kids taking care if me and thru will be if I do not follow through. I have lost 42 lbs. So far and I am now able to walk with a lot more comfort that I ever did before lap band surgery! You will do fine with the surgery, just remember why this is so important to you. Good Luck!

Stick with it you will feel better as each day passes.

isopure
I have tried the tropical flavor and it was good. It was almost $5.00 foe a bottle at the GNC store. It was ok for a treat but it's a little costly for daily use as far as I am concerned. Good luck!

Blender?
I have the magic bullet as well. I love it. It't great to purée soups with as well.

Feel like crap
It took at least three to four days before my headache stopped. I stopped caffine ,oda pop and sugar at the same time. I feel so much better since I have all of that out of my system. It has been a little over three months now. Hang in there you can do it. Remember what your long term goal is! Good luck!

Pain of being banded vs. pain of gallbladder surgery
The hospital were I had my surgery had me shower with Dial soap the night before and the morning of the surgery. I did not have any problems either.

Pain of being banded vs. pain of gallbladder surgery
I took a weeks vacation when I had my surgery. I was tired after 6 hours on my first day back to work. I just went to bed a little early and took it easy that week.

Pain of being banded vs. pain of gallbladder surgery
I think that the pain was about the same except for the area where the port is located. That are ia a little more painful due to the fact that the port is attached to the muscle.

Rash
I had bumps also and they really itched. I also had a bad reaction to the tape that was used during surgery. I would check with your doctor.

Square One Again!
I agre with you Reverie. I am on week 4 post op and I am still really sore around the port area. I was told not to concentrate on the calories and thinking of this as a duet. Think of this new journey as a new lifestyle. It is really hard to change years of bad programing but we can do it. Good luck.

How Many Calories/Carbs?? HELP!!
I was told to keep my calorie intake around 800 to 1000 a Day. They did not want me to worry to much about this, but concentrate on getting at least 75 grams of protein daily and my 2 - 1 oz servings of food three times a day. I supplement my meals with 2 protein drinks daily.

Co2 gas pain
I am 12 days post suegery and I have found that if I take to big of a drink and not sip I will get this terrible gas pain in my left shoulder. It hurts so bad that you can hardly move your arm. I figured that I should take a walk. A short 15 walk took the pain away to my relief. I am learning to slow down when I drink because I do not want to feel that kind of shoulder pain again.

13 days from Surgery...Cold Feet!!
I fully understand how you feel. I think I went through a mourning process for food. Food was my best friend or so I thought it was. After I realized that I would be giving up some of my favorite foods I would find new favorites. I had my surgery 9 days ago and I am not sorry at all. I have discovered that food was not my best friend because iit helped to make me fat just as now I will use food to get healthy. You can do this! Remember why you started this process to begin with. A new healthy you is in the future.

Surgery is Scheduled for March 8th - No Pre-Op Diet?
I stressed over this same issue as well. After several phone calls to the doctors office I was told to follow a high protein low carb menu. I did this for 2 weeks and lost 12 pounds. Good luck with your surgery!

Surgery Tomorrow!
The day before my surgery I was not nervous at all. I think it was due to the fact that I was prepared and had waited for such a long time. I had my surgery on 2/21/2011 and everything went very well. I am having a hard time getting in all of the protein and fluids. Other than that all is good. Good luck with your surgery!
