  1. Wow! 4.5 hours must have been brutal. My car ride home was rough also but it only lasted a little over an hour. Good luck!
  2. My doc said do not put anything on them at all. The glue should wear off naturally and the wounds will heal just fine.
  3. I have never understood why people give a sheet what other people are doing with their lives.
  4. That is exactly why I had the surgery on Oct. 3rd. I finally admitted I could not do it on my own. Good luck to you!
  5. You have great taste in ticker design.
  6. Actually it is, Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
  7. I didn't know that. Thanks for the tip.
  8. Glad to hear you are doing so well! My sugar also was rather high and the nurses monitored it, somewhat, and gave me shots of Humalog.
  9. I know what you mean. I still find it pretty weird I have this thing in my body.
  10. I just sold my Harley so I think if I lose 100 pounds I will get a new firearm. Or maybe sell one, who knows.
  11. My main incision is exactly 2.5 inches across. I also have two 1 " cuts and two 1/2" cuts.
  12. For those of us who are diabetics it is usually best to stay away from all high carb foods. This would include pasta, rice, bread and potatoes.
  13. Thanks for the foil tip! I'll use it tonight. I tried some fillets in the microwave and while it tasted fine the texture wasn't so good. Lots of popping too.....
  14. Best of luck to you! I have learned a lot from this site as well.
  15. Glad things have gone well for you. I had a lot of swelling in my stomach and, for some reason, my arms. But it all subsided in a few days.
  16. Okay I have these Tilapia fillets in my fridge. Is there any way to microwave them? I have been baking them and they are good but I am already sick of the dish cleaning. Was hoping there was an alternative way of cooking them with the microwave....... Less mess and worry, I hope. Yes I am a bachelor!
  17. You have done a great job! I can't wait until I can say I lost that much weight.
  18. I am looking forward to some catfish and squash! Putting the fork down will be easy, chewing, not so much as I have noticed I tend to swallow while I chew.
  19. I was banded on 10-3 and tomorrow I get to start eating normal food. Can't wait to eat some fish and chicken!
  20. Best of luck to all of you being newly banded. I am 8 days post op and I have made it so you can to! The thing you always hear about walking a lot is no joke. It really does help. If they give you pain meds go ahead ahead and take them. No point in being in pain if you don't have to. I gained a lot of fluid weight after surgery but it came off in about 3 days. Also my blood sugar went up into the 270's but it also came down in about 2 days. Just some tips from my experience..............
  21. I don't have any answers for you but I wanted to congratulate you on your weight loss.
  22. Banded on the 3rd and doing okay. Haven't had any gas pain for a few days and then this afternoon a new one reared it's head. I have been walking and riding my exercise bike everyday and I figure that has helped. Still sore but my incisions look like they are doing well.
  23. Thanks for the info. That is exactly what my doctor told me. I am 5 days out and don't have any itching, yet..........
