  1. Hi there, I've had 2 fills and no problems. Easy peasy. I've never fainted, so I think most fills go okay. I'm so happy with my band and losing weight, have hope.
  2. Hi....I have the same band/ size. Had second fill Monday and up to 7ccs. I def have more restriction now. I go back to Dr. in 8 weeks. They like me to lose 8 pds each time which I have done & then some. Love my band. Gail
  3. I love the I.D. card and use it often when eating out. Everyone has been very nice/helpful about it. Gail
  4. I agree that my fills help a lot with just not being so hungry. I get full faster too. Fills help me eat much slower. Going out to restaurants with others is kind of a joke. I always have to take most of my food home. I am grateful because I am a food addict and was never able to do for myself what the band does for me. I have 7ccs at this point. My surgery was 2/7/2011. Lost about 45 lbs now. Thanks.
  5. Hello, I got my 2nd fill yesterday and it went great. Its not painful and I was able to get 3 more CC's making my total band fill 7cc's now. The Dr puts a needle in your port and leaves it there while you sip water. If the water goes down okay you may get to keep all the CC's in the shot. My first fill Dr put in 5CC's, but had to take 1 cc out because the water didn't go down well. My fills have never been painful, they find the port easily and it doesn't take very long either. Today I am on liquids, tomorrow purees and third day solids. 7cc's is definitely more resrtriction.
  6. I now have 4CCs fill in my 11 CC Realize Band. My second fill is May 16th. How much of a fill might I expect for a second fill? Thanks for any information. Gail
  7. PS: I also have an 11 CC Realize Band. Thanks. Gail
  8. I've got to get these gummies! Thanks
  9. I like cottage cheese with salsa and some chips. Makes a good lunch.
  10. thanks for this idea. Love laughing cow.
  11. Dr. LePort who has the Obesity Center @ Orange Coast Memorial has a wonderful program. My friend had Dr. LePort for her surgeon & I had Dr. Ali for mine, who is also in that same group of Doctors. No complaints at all. I just found out that Dr. LePort has purchased the school my two children attend too. I'm sure he will bring the same professionalism to our school that he has in his practice. I have had no problems with my band (Feb. 7, 2011) and have lost 40 pounds so far. I am very happy! thanks.
  12. Oh, I got stuck without a fill too. Hurt like h*ll. Now, have one fill 4cc. Lettuce got stuck last night @ a restaurant & I slimed. So embarrasing. I have to remember smaller bites and make sure lettuce has some dressing on it. I'm 3 months new, so figuring it all out.
  13. Fiber gummies? I'm going to have to look for those! Thanks.
  14. Ditto! I take the same!
  15. I eat rice cakes. Brown rice ones from Trader Joes. Also, whole grain crackers. I can't eat any bread. I've tried it every way possible and it just won't go down. Used to not having bread now and actually relieved. No more worries about bread @ restaurants. Makes things easier.
  16. My surgeon says no sodas, no caffeine. I drank probably 6 Diet Cokes a day before surgery. 3 weeks before surgery I gave them up and haven't had one since. 3 months. I enjoy green tea now no caffeine. I don't even crave soda anymore. I don't think they were good for me anyway. Carbonation leaches out calcium.........I think.
  17. Congratulations! Wow 100! I want to do that! I have one 4cc fill so far. 38 pds gone. 2nd fill May 16th. Thanks for posting your success. I have a Realize Band too.
  18. Glad you got a good solution! Where you are in restriction is my goal! I have my 2nd fill May 16th. Now only have 4ccs. Thanks for your posts. Gail
  19. Hi there. I was banded Feb. 7th, 2011, and just have one fill so far. 5cc. I have never been able to eat bread since surgery. Can't eat it toasted, plain, sandwich, etc. it all gets stuck and once you get stuck you never want to try it again. It's painful. I've wondered about those 7-11 sandwiches like egg sandwich because they are soft, but i won't try one out of fear. I basically eat rice cakes. I eat them with tuna, Peanut Butter, cream cheese, regular cheese, basically anything topping works. I guess because they are crumbly they go down okay. I have to buy a lot of rice cakes because my two kids like them too. Pasta will go down if it's been cooked with like chicken broth...Lean Cuisines seem to be okay. I'm still new and figuring it out, but having anything stuck is too painful to go thru. I'm actually glad because it has removed bread for me, cake, anything like that. Less food to have to deal with. I eat a lot of greek yogurt, cottage cheese, lite and fit yogurt (I think that's the name) and lowfat cheeses. if pizza is crispy enough I can eat like one piece. I find vegetables difficult to eat, so I eat more fruit. Fresh fruit goes down pretty well, esp. watermelon. I've just said goodbye to bread......which I don't really mind at all. Salads instead of sandwiches are okay. I order a sandwich sometimes when out to eat and just don't eat the bread. Good luck!
  20. I didn't think I would tell anyone, but I ended up telling many friends/family. Its ended up being no big deal and most are positive. I find it easier to tell sometimes, just takes any pressure off. I had to help myself and what others might judge I don't really care about. No one walks in my shoes...........no one knows better than me it was the right thing for me to do.
  21. I didn't know I wouldn't be able to eat any bread. I didn't know crispy foods go down easily. I didn't know that chicken would be hard to eat. I didn't know fills take time. I didn't know I would have such a good internal tool to help me so much with food. I didn't know I would feel so much more capable helping myself not overeat. I didn't know I would be grateful for the band. I didn't know that the high I used to feel with food would be removed.
  22. The first bite is truly the only good bite. After that its not that great. Mostly true of sweets and carb foods. The idea/dream of the food is better than the reality. For some reason now I get that finally.
  23. I started getting cold after surgery too. Lost weight, so must be why. I was always hot before. If I do get hot now, it goes away fast. 2 months banded and looking forward to being colder as I keep losing. Hot was miserable.
  24. I do best when I focus on protein first. If I get. Enough protein in, like 70 grrams, I don't feel hungry & I have more energy. Like Premiere shakes from Costco as a meal substitute or as a snack. Also, eggs, tuna, lean hamburger, greek yogurt, lean steak. Isopure drinks too. Fat free cottage cheese and milk. I add fresh fruit. Proteins seem to really help me not have cravings.
