/#rant/ I'm So Upset And Getting Impatient!
Hi Mel34, When I went through exactly what you are going through..I finally had to tell myself,,she is getting everything in order. She's crossing every T and dotting every i before it gets sent. You want it this way,,you do not want to go through denial and appeals process,,that will just hold things up longer. Whether that's the case,,tell yourself that and like the others say, keep yourself occupied. Browse online shops to see what styles you'll wanna wear, vacations you'd like to take once you get weight off. Make yourself a bucket list of things you'll want to achieve. Pamper yourself with a new hairstyle. You have to keep your eye on the prize. I'm on my pre op diet and Chike strawberry Meal Replacement and Syntha 6 chocolate Protein is very tasty..no after taste..I was impressed. I also got the unjury chicken powder broth, it's very bland so I add a 1/2 chicken bouillon cube to it,,it's perfectly good. The lady at GNC recommended a multi Vitamin powder in chocolate. It can be added to my shakes, pudding or drank alone. I got a good measuring tape, Iron, vit d, vit c, vit k, Biotin, b Vitamins,,etc. I thought,,that's alot of stuff too.lol It's crazy..almost made me question everything. I spent a fortune. You can check out www.unjury.com, www.mybariatricpantry.com , www.netrition.com ..hope this helps. Keep us posted. Good luck on your journey!

Food Funeral
Since I was in the process for over a year,,I had many food funerals. And then I would diet to make up for it,,back and forth I did this and it was so unhealthy. In the end I was just a few pounds up from my original weigh in but still,,I could've really blown it. I would not recommend alot of last suppers. Maybe plan 3 nice dinners where you don't really limit yourself..but be very careful the rest of the time. Just a suggestion but you don't want to have to lose even more weight after you are sleeved..or risk getting surgery cancelled because they think you aren't trying. I was freaking out the last week before my last clinical with the surgeon. I didn't want him to see me a ton heavier than when I began.

I Don't Know How To Eat For Pre Gastric Sleeve Surgery Diet
Capt Derel..That's about what my post op diet looks like but the pre op diet is 2 meal replacement shakes and 1 meal consisting of a meat protein and veggies. I can also have egg, cheese and nuts. My problem is they didn't give me any specifics like what kind of anything or how much. I'm just going to wing it. Thanks for all the suggestions and help. I think I was very flustered when I posted because I wanted it all laid out simple so I could make a grocery list and just go get what I need. I think I'm going to have to make an actual menu then go by that then come up with my own reasonable portions.

I Don't Know How To Eat For Pre Gastric Sleeve Surgery Diet
I have a 2 week pre op diet and it was very vague as to what I need to eat. High protein, low carb/fat..I have no idea what to buy. I was told to do protein shakes/replacement meals,,but I could mix things up a bit by adding stuff to them..but I don't know what. I can eat high protein lean meats but how much?? I have no idea. Green leafy veggies,,but I don't know if I can have all veggies and can I eat fruit? I feel so stupid that I didn't ask,,I was so wrapped up in asking about the actual surgery. The nutritionist consult seemed very thorough but now that I'm home, I'm clueless and searching the forums for a grocery list.

22 Days And Dealing With The Ups And Downs
I am having a fantabulous day. My appt went very well,,I was down 4 pounds from the last time I weighed in there (still not at my original weight at first weigh in but hey,,good on me anyway). I suffer from anxiety, my therapist said I was all worked up because of thoughts about surgery, getting ready for the holidays and everyday stressers that maybe brought on my mood. It's like a new day today though,,thanks for being concerned for me!! You guys are the bomb! I have 2 weeks left which means I started the pre op diet today. I know it sucks but I'm so excited because it means I am that much closer to surgery!

Questions To Ask The Gastric Sleeve Surgeon
Thanks everyone, I got to use a few,,but not all of them as my appt was this morning. My surgeon actually answered almost everything and the nutritionist answered the rest. I had a few questions but mostly concerning personal things about myself.

18 Days To Gastric Sleeve Surgery..but Who's Counting
Lissa,,thanks for the info because it does feel good to know that we will be able to eat those foods again,,but in moderation and much smaller amounts. I just meant during this liquid stage I have to say goodbye. It will be hard to say no when I have to cook for a husband and kids but I'm a creative cook so I will make the best of it. When I can have that one protein and veggie meal..it will be full of flavor and I think it will be fulfilling. I'm going on motivation right now so I have that going for me. For so long I've been depressed and unmotivated,,you just get no where when you get like that. I have my head in the game now and I will be pushing hard to get what I want from all of this. My biggest goal is to get off of meds and have fun with my family..so that's the biggest motivation. Keeping my eye on the prize!

18 Days To Gastric Sleeve Surgery..but Who's Counting
Gotcha..I will say this past week has probably been enough for me. I've eaten at a few of my favs so I decided as soon as I posted this, to start on something. I'm journaling what I take in and incorporating protein in slowly before the 13th. I'll eat a sensible dinner and have a healthy snack in between. On the 13th, I'll be on 2 meal replacements and then 1 meal consisting of lean protein and non starch vegetables (rabbit food...how exciting) I do love veggies but goodbye pizza and pasta, goodbye loaded cheeseburgers, goodbye chocolate and goodbye ice cream. I'm going to be doing some creative shake making.lol

18 Days To Gastric Sleeve Surgery..but Who's Counting
So I have a few days before my pre op diet starts, should I start early or take this time to satisfy my every taste bud with every restaurant that I've ever loved. I am torn,,I feel like I have this extra child and need to give him/her up or like part of me will be dying and I need to do a food bucket list. Do others feel this way? How are you overcoming and getting passed the food funerals?

Meal Replacements
I have to go on a 2 week pre op diet. I was told to use meal replacements 2 x a day. I've bought some samples of different products and brands,,I had a couple sample packets that read specifically "meal replacement" I looked at nutrional info and they do have all the extra vitamins whereas the regular protein drinks just provide you with basically protein. Does anyone recommend a good meal replacement?
-
Meal Replacements
I start my 2 week pre op diet on the 13th. Instructions say that I need 2 meal replacements along with 1 high protein meal (meat, cheese, egg, veggies..etc). Does anyone know of a good meal replacement? I have alot of protein mixes but that's not the same,,is it?

Preparing For Gastric Sleeve
Yay!!..going home!! You're not scaring me After having several surgeries, I have anticipated the pain. I know everyone is different in terms of pain and their threshold for handling it,,are you able to move around ok? Is the pain from the incisions or does the pain come from the removal of the stomach or both? That's a great idea about the meds,,I would've probably forgotten that very important step as I do all the time as it is.lol

Preparing For Gastric Sleeve
Since I have 3 weeks to kill, I'm planning on getting prepared during this time. Problem is, I'm not sure what to do and where to begin. I know I want to do some house cleaning and get some smaller clothes ready, I want to work on me a little and get my hair done. I've been stocking up on protein supplies so going to get those all set up in the cabinet and ready to use. What are some things I need to be preparing for? Am I overthinking? I have a one track mind right now...surgery.lol

One Week Till Gastric Sleeve Surgery
blackanese25, I spent time in icu several times over the past couple years and numerous hospital visits and am all too familiar with the heparin shots. They will just gather a small piece of the fat from a love handle and stick it with a teeny needle,,it's about 1/4" long and very skinny,,sometimes I never felt them..not bad. The most pain was a small sting from the heparin but I never felt the actual needle. I hope this doesn't just scare you more.
