I know it won't bring world peace but ...
My food bill has gone down to nearly nothing. You know what is sad is, I have this desire when I see people out and about, at the mall, etc. and I want to shout out and tell them all about al WLS . I want everyone to be this happy.

I know it won't bring world peace but ...
Flame you? I applaud you! Yes, life is a thousand percent happier at goal. There are some things that being thin won't change, but being healthy and feeling good about yourself is worth a million dollars to me!

Too skinny anyone?
Go in and read all the band to sleeve revision stories. go to lap band talk and read the complications section. Bands are a nightmare. Yes, you can control how much weight you lose with a sleeve. After you get to where you want to be, you add back healthy fats and healthy carbs. Do yourself a very big favor and research the band much more thoroughly.

looking for a snack
Ok great! So many of those bullets are collegen protein.

TMI...but I GOTTA ASK!!
It is absolutely normal. You can do a thread search if you want, but everyone complains - liquids in, liquids out! I feel for you. If you're on liquids now, you're going to be really tired of liquids on the post op diet!

10 months out and food BORES me a bit! Yay!
Oh I didn't even know people ate horses! I did lose most of my weight with the band, but the sleeve is what is keeping me at goal. I gained 30 of the 75 lbs I lost with the band back from band problems. Losing that plus more has been like a dream come true. I love never being hungry and not thinking about food constantly!

I'm being SLEEVED on Sept. 15, 2010 by Dr. Aceves!!
Diva, I lost 22 lbs on the post op diet. That 50 lbs is going to be gone before you know it. I am so happy for you. I am having some out of town company for the next few days so I probably won't be in the chat room. I am dying to talk to you though. I am sure you thought Dr. Campos was dreamy!

Those protein bullets are not a good form of protein. Can you get any other kind of protein drinks that are whey protein and don't have any collegen protein in them?

Let's discuss "the foamies" and "sliming"
Oh I'm Greek and I love Greek food! I hope all of you learn to chew your food very well and eat slowly. After awhile, it's not as important, but it's really important at first.

Top 10 reasons to have VSG surgery
Take ball room dance classes! Dancing has made a huge difference in my life and there are no other ladies on the dance floor who are fat. I fit in with everyone else for the first time in years!

Just need to vent
Make a nice post in the Success story forum! You are a success! If you don't like your job, look for another one. It's so much easier to do things as a thin person. People treat fat people differently. I remember when I thought being thin was going to solve all my problems. I remember saying ( and there are posts here of me talking about it) that I was no happier thin than I was when I was fat. I went to counseling and I learned how to be happy.I found out what it would take to make me happy. Do something nice for yourself! Go get a massage, or your hair done, and CELEBRATE! You are a success!

i'd like to hear from the smaller sleeve patients out there
I lost most of my weight with the band but gained some back when I started having band problems. I weighed 167 the day I had my revision surgery and I weigh 130 now. I basically had no recovery. I was walking around outside the hospital the day after surgery. I had surgery on a Wed. and went back to work on Monday.

many AFTER questions
Look for the thread in the food section called places to get samples. It's better to get samples of things rather than buy a tub of something you may not like. What you like before surgery, you may not like after surgery. I drove the day I got home from the hosptial. I never took pain meds other than the first 24 hours in the hospital.

Let's count Dr. Aceves Patients!

Let's discuss "the foamies" and "sliming"
For the most part, it does go away. It's very common for months. I was on liquids for a long time, way past when I was supposed to advance to mushies. All I can say is don't push yourself. I am 16 months past surgery now, and it still happens occasionally. Eating with the sleeve is a learning process. Chew very well, wait between bites. That is the best advice I can give to avoid this. Also, you will be more full 20 min past when you think you're full. It's true that it takes 20 min for your brain and stomach to catch up. I had to learn to stop before I am full, cause I know now in 20 min I would be way too full, if I ate until I was full.

Susan how are you doing anyway? You don't check in much you know. I know you're in love and all, but are you loving your sleeve?

Almost 3 Months out - Switched to Atkins
I think what most of us do is basically Atkins and just don't call it that. I ate under 30 grams of carbs per day while I was losing but never counted calories.

Let's count Dr. Aceves Patients!
Why aren't dr. Aceves patients signing in? I know that over half this board has gone to him but I'd like to be able to have more than an estimate. please post if you had your surgery done by him.

consti ... pation
Miralax is a life saver. I don't take a full doseage of it, but my dr. says it's safe to take every day. It mixes well and you can't taste it. Just start taking it every day.

Dear Protein,
yes, I can't count how many bottles of Biotin I have gone through. I take it 3x per day and I think all I have gotten out of it is expensive pee.

Don't like to cook- can I make this work?
I don't cook at all. I mean NEVER. I did cook twice when I had a guy over for dinner. I live alone. I eat out a lot and one dinner out is 2-3 more meals at home for me. I make sandwiches now out of that really thin bread that looks like a hamburger bun. I eat tuna salad, egg salad, chicken salad. Really, I have no desire to cook. Once in a great while I will cook ground turkey with taco sauce and sprinkle some cheese on top and sour cream. That is cooking for me. It's really not a problem because most of the time, nothing sounds good and I don't want to eat any way. You'll figure it out.

Post-Op SEX
I have never considered breast implants until recently. I don't know why my boobs are smaller now than they were when I was in H.S. and I weighed 110 then. I literally have no boobs. My A cup is too big. It's demoralizing. I am just afraid of losing nipple sensation if I get a boob job. My boobs look like a little kids tube sock.

Would you go to Mexico alone for surgery?
I went alone and I am glad I did. I didn't need anyone and the last thing I would want is somebody around. I felt fine and perfectly comfortable being alone.
