How do sleever's celebrate success
First I will do a dance of joy! When I hit the hundred pound mark (5 pounds to go) I am going to announce that loss on FB and post a picture of myself. My general friends do not know about this at all, they will be shocked! When I hit 145 I am going to go shopping galore! Book a cruise and spend a week in Key West where I will were shorts for the first time in all the years I have been going there. ( have always worn capris). I will by a tshirt in a size Medium in a womans color for once! Maybe even a tank.top depending on how my arms look.

Who did you tell??
At first I told no one. Than as I got closer I felt I had to tell folks as I was going to be in hospital on Thanksgiving and my family would want to know for what. I ended up telling the people at work who work in the same room as me since we don't get breaks and have to eat at our consoles, and eating out was a big thing with all of us. They were very supportive and actually used the change in ordering out as a positive for themselves in that one lady saved money and the other lady started to lose some weight as she watched me and what I eat and she incorporated better choices in her diet including a Protein shake for morning break! Of course the word spread pretty fast at work, but absolutely everyone, (but one, a hater) has been very positive and supportive. When we had a department meeting my boss asked what I could have for food since they usually buy donuts and he got me some fruit. The day of the snowstorm from hell our bosses bought us lunch because we had been working for 16 hours and they ordered pizza, but my boss asked me if I wanted something else and he bought a chicken sandwich for me. If anyone is ever negative to me about it I am just going to ignore them because I know I have done an amazing change in my life and this is what works for me!

Question
Honesty is best, I would also look into Family Medical Leave Act and see if that applies in your situation.

Regrets
I have one HUGE regret. I wish I could have done this 20 years ago!
-
Please tell me this really does get better
Yep it goes away, I actually posted the same question back when I was a week out. I still burp a lot and there all kinds of gurgling going on, bu tI guess that is the norm now.

Nervous!?!?!
What you are experiencing is perfectly normal. You are making a life changing decision here and being nervous about that alone not to mention the surgery would make anyone nervous. Keep busy, make things ready as possible at home for when you get home, have your liquids on hand. You will do great and be losing weight in no time!

1 week out of vsg op, 1 day home
The cramping is normal, you are very swollen in your stomach. Sipping warm broth first helps loosen up the stomach and esophagus. Are you on any acid reducing meds? They help the new tummy also. Trust me when I say each day gets better and before you know it you will take a full gulp of something and not even realize till afterward:)

Tomorrow is my date
Congrats! I know the night before is very scary, keep in mind the end result! You will be fine and losing weight and sizes in no time! Keep us posted how you are doing!

Alli
Miralax would be better,, no blocking absorption of essential fatty acids that are much needed on such a restricted calorie intake.

3 Week Stall HELP!!!!
I stalled at week 6 for 6 WEEKS!!!!!! I thought I would die! I did loose a pant size during this time.. I added essential fatty acids, upped my liquids and and protien and guess what? I lost 12 pounds and stalled again, going on a week here. I guess this is the norm. Loose, stall, loose, stall.

Things people say...
No one has been negative to me, but if they were I would say "Everyone is different and if traditional weight loss worked for me I would have done it years ago. I did what I had to in order to get healthy." Nuff said.

The best NSV thus far ! ! !
Congrats Tiffany!

5 weeks post-op and frustrated!
I am 16 weeks post op and have hit my second stall. I was stalled from the 6th to the 12th week after gaining 4 pounds, then it broke all the sudden and I lost 11 pounds and now I am stalled for a week again. So I guess this is how it goes from some of us, levels of weight loss instead of constant decline. During the last stall I upped my calories a bit and added Essential fatty acids to my diet. It is very frustrating because you go through this surgery and then to see the scale stuck makes your mind play games. I did lose a pant size while in the stall so it is true you can lose inches while the scale sticks.

Sabatoge : (
In the beginning my husband would ask me things like " Do you want something from Mcdonalds? or Do you want a box of candy for the movies?" At first I would say no and keep my anger to myself. After about the 15th time of him asking me this stuff I blew up and screamed at him about why in the hell would I want that crap if I put myself through a life changing surgery. I went to explain very loudly that I thought he was rude and insensitive and that I did not appreciate his attempts to change things back to the way they were. I have not heard any of those junk food attempts lately but now he has the audacity to make comments about how often I am or am not using my Wii Fit. I finally told him that was pissing me off to no end since I have lost 91 pounds and he is at a all time high of over 400 he has no business worrying about what I do or do not do for weight loss.
