    It's my Birthday!

Today I'm celebrating 53 years of life. I'm 139lbs. down and I exercise regularly. I'm wearing 53 years pretty well. Don't you all agree? Here's my Birthday transformation pic.

    An Uncomfortable Question

It's not an uncomfortable question at all. I'm pre op and my husband is very supportive. We all have that question in the back of our minds. I have to agree with everyone here though. Confidence is sexy! Maybe ever sexier than some slinky outfit. I would like to add that the "right one" usually comes along when you stop looking for them. You will now have the ability to pick and choose your dates, not the other way around. So, let go and stop looking for "the one". I kissed, and married a number of "frogs" before I found the "toad" of my dreams. The right man, the one who will cherish and love you come hell or high water is out there. And he's just waiting for you to wander in! He will love you no matter what you look like without the window dressing, and with the lights on. BTW, I don't believe in "the one" theory. Out of literally millions of people, how can there just be 1?

I’m 10 years out from having a gastric sleeve and I’m close to my pre-op weight. I am so frustrated and disappointed with myself. I guess I stretched my stomach out. Is there anyone out there with this problem ?

    Batwings Be Gone! 🦇

Since working out with weights 3 times a week, my arm muscles actually look pretty good! But........ batwings are hanging underneath! I am going to wait a year after goal and then see how my self image is. If I am still too embarrassed to wear sleeveless tanks (this IS Arizona, afterall), I may consider plastics at that time. But I want to give my psyche a chance to come to grips with the situation. Who knows? A year post goal and I may just say, "To heck with it - these are MY arms and I earned 'em. No one else's opinion matters."

Our general goal was to sip an ounce (30ml) every five minutes if you can. Inflammation in the stomach after surgery can vary widely, so some can drink fairly normally (no guzzling or chugging!) while others may have to sip very slowly, I could sip down a bowl of broth (6-8 oz?) and a 4 oz juice box in a half hour sitting in the hospital, and that was of no concern to the doc; when my wife went through this a few years before things went through much more slowly. Both can be considered to be "normal".

    An Uncomfortable Question

Hey !Silver Fox Dudes, ready to try. it out, if you can keep from laughing at my formerly fat skin areas. And when I lay down you don't need to play anthropologist and go excavating, it's there and handy! I have turned from Shrinking Violet to Geranium, blooming all over and not one of my blooms needs Deadheaded!

    An Uncomfortable Question

Sex is sooooo much better when I'm thinner. And even with looser skin, I am waaaay hotter than when I was obese. And not just because I am thinner, but because I am more CONFIDENT and sure of myself, and the weight loss was a big part in re-cultivating that. You are really worried about how you will feel/look after weight loss (I notice this is your second post on the topic ♥️). But are you happy with your situation right now? I'm guessing that you aren't since you are moving forward with the surgery. Change is scary. But if you put in the effort, it will totally be worth it. 100%. ♥️

    It was NOT gas pain.

I got the sleeve December 28th. Successful pre-op week long liquid diet and day before clear liquids. 10.5 lb loss Successful surgery, anesthesia hit a bit hard and I didn’t end up fully waking up until middle of the night surgery night. Began walking, could hardly sip, all normal stuff. I could immediately pick myself up and didn’t require assistance in sitting up or walking around, was just extremely tired. Three days post op I began feeling what I assumed were the dreaded gas pains dead center of my abdomen. I called my doctors office, scoured the forums for advice, nothing helped. I tried the milk of magnesia assuming I was backed up, not the case. Tried gasx bc the pain latest 3 days non stop. Couldn’t hardly move, couldn’t sleep, couldn’t walk, couldn’t sit, lay, anything. So! Fast forward to Thursday (6 days post op) and I’m balling on the phone with my doctors office pleading there’s no way this is gas. So they bump my post op appointment to the next morning if I can wait. If not, they say don’t wait to go to the ER. Next morning on Friday my mother rushes me to the office, we barely get through the door and they’re sending us to the ER next door. After many tests, hours of different pain meds that didn’t work...a ct scan shows a prominent Portal vein thrombosis. A massive and extremely painful blood clot in my chest bc of the surgery. Little pre surgery info, I’m extremely healthy. I’ve never had heart burn, acid reflux, diabetes, heart problems, any issues health wise. I’ve now been in the hospital for over a week dealing with the excruciating pain, blood thinners, 6 days of NO FOOD OR WATER, not even ice chips. Talk about torture. So, just a heads up...it’s not always gas pain. This may be super rare, which is what I’ve been told, but still...it sounds like gas pains...it still may not be. If your pain is at a 10 go to the dang hospital.
