Just got back today from the beach. This is my first trip since losing 100lbs. I was sleeved 6/22/17. I in no way have a beach ready body but physically I felt great. I don't remember the last time I was able to walk miles on the beach without pain, being short of breath, or just uncomfortable. Had a great time and felt great the whole trip. Even got to enjoy some gulf seafood. So glad I had the surgery. Last pic was taken at my daughters wedding the day before our trip. So nervous I feel nauseous! LOL

Just had my first few teaspoons of custard. Went down smoothly and tasted good. Full after 4 tablespoons! My surgeon says eat anything liquid that you can get though a straw that is really runny, e.g. Custard, broth, runny yogurts, the higher in protein like Dairy is the better.

    Broth Recommendations

I started with raw, unpeeled shrimp, onions, carrots, celery, mushrooms, garlic cloves, and tomatoes. I let that boil for about an hour and then added salt, pepper, cumin, crushed red pepper, and parsley. Boiled that for another hour or two-I didn't put on a timer. Once strained, I was surprised by how great it was. That's the first time I had made broth from scratch and I just put in whatever I liked, so I was happy it turned out. I like spicy, but I'll leave the crushed red pepper out during the post-op healing time. I've got another week on the pre-op liquid diet to enjoy it.

    Any peeps from Ontario, Canada

Wow getting close! Good luck just keep positive and follow guidelines and you'll be fine. It's overwhelming at first figuring out what to eat the first few weeks but then gets easier.

I just got cubes and boxed broth. I sometimes add plan protein powder to make it creamy.

Sure thing! That's the stage I'm most worried about too, so I'll definitely be taking my own advice lol I'm thinking I'll also try some recipes I've found on various bariatric sites for the pureed/blended stage. I"ll attach a file with the ones I've found so far (also include some protein pudding recipes that I want to try) Blended_Pureed Recipes.pdf

Can I get by without blending foods ?

I’m on my second week and I’m going straight to soft foods. My nutritionist said they don’t do blended foods.

    Pre op weight loss

I lost 20 pounds on my two week pre op. Post op is going slower but that's ok. It's not a race. I'm losing and that's what it's all about. I don't have a scale and I'm not sure I want one. When my pants get too loose. I'll go to the next size down. I get on the scale at the Dr. That's good enough for me. Oh and my surgery was Oct. 3rd I got sleeved. I did not have any pain as far as the surgery. I came home on Friday and went back to work on the following Monday. I have had back and knee pain for a very long time hoping this will help soon.
