    Feeling defeated

You need to think long and hard about smoking vs. surgery. Those are two gigantic life changes you are trying to accomplish at the same time. It is really important that smoking stays out of your life forever after surgery. Most people need help quitting. Chantix, family and friends' support, smoking cessation programs.. all these might help. Even if you need to delay the surgery to accomplish quitting for good, it will be worth it! (And if you think the cravings will be better after surgery, they won't. The cravings will probably be worse.) You. can. do. this. !! Just make sure you WANT to quit more than you want that cigarette. If you do? Then that desire, combined with external help, will get you there!

    2 days post off

It will get significantly better each day. By day 4 I was not even taking any more pain meds. By day 10, feeling great. If you don't notice significant improvement with pain by day 4 or 5, you should reach out to your doctor. Also, if you have a fever, can't keep anything down, or are short of breath, you should reach out to your doctor. What pain meds were you sent home with?

    Excercise post vsg

Do anything that won't put pressure on your abs (squats may strain your abs and increase abdominal pressure which strains the sutures and your healing stomach). Those muscles will be sore for weeks.

    So sick of soup!!!!

I know what you mean possymoo, I have 2weeks to go as well on clear liquids and protein shakes only, but be strong we can do this! I've been freezing shakes, then blending them to make smoothies which has helped. I also checked with my nut today who is letting me add in some yogurt next Thursday? Check with yours to see if they have other ideas as well. Be strong, we got this!

    Preop Diet Tomorrow

For me the first 3 days were a BEAST! I had a migraine from the caffeine withdrawal... After that I've done well. I found Atkins Lift drinks at Big Lots for $2, they sell EVERYWHERE else for about$7-8. I've found that they help slot if I get hungry in the afternoon, before dinnertime. Also I make my job every afternoon so it's ready when my boys go to bed! You'll do fine, better than you expect!
