    Any August 2021 Bypassers?

No bowel prep here, just a very restrictive diet and clear liquids only the last day. Almost there!!! I talk myself into and out of this a million times a day.

I would think it was more about the volume rather than weight. If you are concerned speak to your dietician or surgeon. Given that your profile shows you are in a good place so you must be doing right regardless of the weight of the food you are eating.

    Pain, pain, and more pain

This doesn’t sound typical to me. How many times have you called your surgeon? I’d probably be sitting in his office by this point if he hadn’t called me back. All else failing, so to the ER.

    Headaches... ugh

Thanks, no cheating although I've thought about it several times. I feel I've came too far to mess up now. Thanks again. Sent from my SM-G991U using BariatricPal mobile app

    R.I.P. Boobs

Before my breast reduction, my breasts were so pendulous they hung to my waist and my nipples had very little feeling at all. The skin around them was also purplish because there wasn't good blood supply and my nipples barely had any color. After the breast reduction and lift, I have feeling like I never had before. It took a lot of getting used to, because they got so sensitive, and before I never had my nipples show through clothes because they didn't react much to cold or touch. They are also a much darker color now. So for me, I GAINED feeling in them after the reduction and lift. I was also able to successfully breast feed my son, which I don't think would have been possible had I not had the reduction and lift. All that being said, there is always a risk of loss of feeling after a lift. I had a really fantastic surgeon and was also very lucky that everything went so well. If they become empty sacks after I have finished losing weight, it will be ironic. Ha ha Sent from my Nokia 7.2 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Really Need Some Help

I'm sorry you've had so many difficulties! A lot of people gained weight with the pandemic; you're by no means alone in that. I know there are many people who have successfully lost regain, and you're doing all the right things to be among them! Keep working at it and it sounds like you know just what you need to do... which we knew all along was the easy part! I think working with the therapist is going to be a great help. Hopefully you will be able to make some friends who like healthy, active pursuits, but we all know it's hard to make new friends as we get older. I am worried because many of my friends have horrible eating habits and are sedentary and I am working to improve that as I go through this process. Best of luck to you! Keep us posted.

Yeah, I'm admittedly a "lazy loser" myself. I've never been ANY good at counting/tracking calories, points, whatever. I eat things I enjoy because I know that one of my mental shortcomings is that if I try to force myself to eat things I don't enjoy just because they're healthy, I know I will cheat. I will *have* to eat something enjoyable, regardless of what other "healthy" things I've eaten... so rather than compound the calorie intake, I'll just cut to the chase and eat what I enjoy, healthy or not, but in moderation and smaller portions. Not everyone's brain works the same way, and I know this perspective is likely anathema for others, but it's working thus far for me. 1 year out from surgery date my weight has plateaued as expected, but knowing my propensity to enjoy food, I'm deliberately keeping a closer eye on the scale. I have my fast food and my occasional sweets, but If I see any long-term trend upwards more than about 2-3 pounds, I immediately tighten things up. So far, so good. Just this morning I hit a new low weight, so the the trend is still downward, and IMO that's what's important, no matter the methods employed. Different strokes, yadda yadda yadda...

if you read enough posts it seems that the rate of loss is a little slower after revision I’m currently 2 yrs post revision from VSG to RNY (for GERD not regain) and for me I have been able to maintain the same weight I was with VSG but I’m now GERD free. Initially I lost a little but since I was already at goal my surgeon wanted me to maintain not lose so I ate whatever I wanted for a short period of time. Then went back to normal (post bari lifestyle of moderation and overall food changes/substitution) Knowing what I now know, I think revisioners should consider asking their surgeons: 1. No GERD but substantial regain- Should I consider VSG to DS/SIPS for greater weightloss? 2. GERD and substantial regain- Should I convert from VSG to RNY with a longer bypass? 3. GERD but no regain- Should I convert from VSG to RNY with a slightly shorter bypass to prevent excess loss? Good Luck ❤️
