I was starving days after my surgery, too. And literally...we are starving. Our bodies are consuming a tremendous amount of calories healing and we've been on extremely restrictive diets and will continue to be. No way to sugar coat it....it's kind of miserable and you've just gotta survive it. Eventually, you do eat reasonable amounts of calories again and start to feel better. You'll be tempted to jump ahead and taste things....don't do it, it's not safe. Let your stomach heal properly. Hang in there. I had insane food dreams, felt weak, and absolutely hated the first month after surgery. Minding the rules is so important for your safety right after surgery. I swear it gets better.

    Itchy hands and feet

I had this on my feet (omg, the itch). I can't remember when it went away, but it did. Though I wasn't sure if it was related to weight loss at the time.

    Itchy hands and feet

I had this on my fingers. They were so itchy, I would scratch to death, and they would bleed sometimes. Finally I tried cortisone, and it only helped a little bit. It finally went away after about 2 months post op. I never asked the doc what it was.

If you are not already on some stomac acid reducers ask your doctor what you can use. I was able to use over the counter nexium.

    800 calorie

I'm sure I was eating more than 400 a day when I was a month out, but I doubt I was at 800 at that point. I know I ate in the 600-800 range most of that first year, but I can't remember when I started that - maybe after about two months? Maybe just go up by 100 or so calories at a time? You'll almost certainly lose weight at 800 kcal (as I said, a lot of us eat that for much of the first year), but going from 400 to 800 practically overnight would be pretty drastic.

This topic is covered But Yes way to little you body is going to go into defense mode and not burn fat and start to protect fat! 70 Grams of Protien 800 calories is the average around here for those who can take it. Your like me I am never hungry and never have to eat, but that does not mean you do not need to eat

    Sugar Addiction

The cravings will be blunted and almost nonexistent during the honeymoon period of 6 to 12 months post-op. However, in most people the cravings return. This is especially true for many people who compulsively ate sweets and sugar. There are two types of weight loss surgery patients: moderators and abstainers. Moderators can moderate their intake of trigger foods and stop before falling off the wagon, whereas abstainers must abstain from their trigger foods because they will definitely fall off the wagon. If you cannot moderate your intake of sweets, you need to abstain or else you will regain your weight.
