Thank you soooooo much! Wish I could hug you. I think l'll be one of the slow losers, but like you said, either way I'm still a loser, so yay! Lol!

    Give it me straight!

The bad: Like others mentioned, gas and constipation. 🙄 Also, feeling sick and having pain after eating. This can happen with food intolerances and also if I eat too fast or too much. But... I have so much more energy, which is so far my favorite thing about having this surgery. Just having energy to do things again has changed my life dramatically for the better. 😬😬

    I am home

Hey everyone I made it home  today. I’m in a lot of pain but just tying to not think about it. Hopefully I will start feeling better in a few days. I’ll keep posting my updates as the come.

Hi everyone, sooo I'm on my liquid diet before surgery. I'm actually starting a week before I'm supposed to (cause I'm crazy) and I noticed that my throat feels thick from drinking the protein shakes. It kind of feels like I'm sick? Sounds odd I know. I've been drinking Premier Protein shakes. I have never had this issue before when I drink them. Maybe because I drinking them more? Just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this before?

I never did the math on this before. 8/18-8/19 I lost an average of 6.1 pounds per month. I had surgery at 204 and I lost s.l.o.w. I think one month I only lost 2-3 pounds eating less than 900 calories a day. I did lose it though! I even lost a few more since then.

    Too Much Gatorade???

Hi congrats on having a surgery date. I was sick with gatorade post op. I did try it though because I thought it would help with preventing dehydration. My pouch just prefers ice cold water. Its a bit puritan lol. I read another lady on here had a kidney stone with similar symptom to yours so it may not be the gatorade. Hope everything goes well with surgery!

Recent RNY - How ya doing?

I had hernia repair and RNY on 19th August and it's been a bit of a roller coaster. My mouth was very sore afterwards and turned out I had oral thrush which I was treated for. Never had that before but was surprised at the amount of pain - sort of burning tongue, roof of mouth and throat. Everything I ate - mostly soups sort of left it hurting more. Went to see doctor after two weeks and she said oral thrush still there - more of same medication prescribed plus antihistamine because seems I've had some sort of allergic reaction. Oh my the antihistamine has made an enormous difference. I was so miserable and hadn't realised how swollen it all was. Now have to find out what I have reacted to - something in theatre. Anyway down 8lbs which I suppose isn't too bad but just want to be thin now that I've done the surgery!

    Water

I found protein water was really helpful. Protein2o is my favorite. It doesn’t seem to have the word aftertaste from the fake sugar everyone uses.

    Day 1 post opp

Thank you for sharing this! I am Day 2 of post op and am MISERABLE. So much pain it’s hard to get comfortable. Been walking a lot which helps to move gas but I find breathing deeply very painful. Really looking forward to getting through this week.
