Hi I am new here. I had Gastric sleeve surgery on June 18,2020. In December when I first started seeing the Dr. I weighed 340lbs. By my surgery date I was 327lbs. As of last Monday I weighed 301lbs. I am 6'1". I was told to have the surgery or become paralyzed from the weight collapsing my spine. I started soft foods this week but am struggling to get the 80grams of Protein a day. This is a picture of me when I was about 345lbs. Sent from my LM-V350 using BariatricPal mobile app

I came across this article while researching if menopause would still screw me after WLS that you might find interesting. Weight loss impacts our genes. https://www.mymenopausemag.com/stay-well/bariatric-surgery-telomeres/

    Apollo Protein?

we were told to stick to whey protein isolate early out because it's the most easily absorbed, and many of us needed the shakes to meet our protein goals (I sometimes use protein blends now that I'm in maintenance, since I get most/all of my protein from my food). Anyway, Apollo is a blend - so if you were told to have whey protein isolate, this won't work for you - or at least while you're early out.

    Food during weeks 1 & 2?

Thanks, y’all! I feel better now. I’ll have questions ready when I have my pre-surgery nutrition class then I’ll be sure to listen to my body after surgery. I’m a natural worrier so I really appreciate y’all’s input. @mattk53, I can easily see your experience happening to me! I’m happy everything went good for you despite the curveball!

    CAN'T STOP LOSING WEIGHT??

Again, this is a dream. I'm 32 days post op and stalled at a 17 pound weight loss. Been 200 pounds for 10 days. My surgeon did a "short bypass". Only 100 cm. Because I only had 65 pounds to lose and I didn't want to dump or malabsorb. I hope I will still lose the 65 pounds. I'd love to be saying what you two are in a year. Wishing you continued success!

Only my husband and best friend (who cared for my kiddo when I was in the hospital know. My dad and sister think I'm doing a "physician directed diet." (not untrue)

    CAN'T STOP LOSING WEIGHT??

That's great. To be able to eat regularly and even have a treat now and then and continue to maintain and even lose... that is everyone's goal. Congrats!

I've been taking Wellbutrin for several years. It didn't interfere whatsoever with my weight loss.
