I am 5 1/2 months post op and I am down 93 lbs since pre-op and 78 lbs since surgery. I was so embarrassed when my CEO said I really needed to stop wearing my big clothes. I immediately went out bought new clothes and gave away my old ones.

I had some blood work Monday and was so excited to see my cholesterol levels! Total Cholesterol 175 < 200 200 HDL 65 > 40 52 LDL 96 < 100 124 Triglycerides 70 < 150 116 the numbers in the middle are what they should be and the numbers to the right are from October 2019

Thanks, and that waist reduction that you experienced is brilliant, I'm hoping to be on that same range, as a matter of fact, im 48 right now and im happy if I come down to 38, lesser than that would also be acceptable for me, I saw a post about a another man in this website, says that he came down 12 sizes, and I was impressed.

OMG ..... If it's the Depo Shot..... STOPPPPPPP!!!!!! Years ago they removed the IUD and started me on the Depo... I gained 50lbs in one month.... it was horrible. Look into the Nuvo Ring. It was the best Birth control EVER.... I tried it all, the Pill (nausea all the time), diaphragm (terrible bladder and yeast infections), Condoms with and without foam (latex-sensitive), IUD (terrible bleeding), the shot (major weight gain, but i didn't bleed), then the Ring. It was the only one that worked for me. Then in my 30ies i had a partial hysterectomy.... OMG it was like the heavens parted and the angels were singing.... At 50 i started menopause and it sucks Ass..... I started gaining weight and couldn't control it, no matter what i did. So i decided enough was enough and paid OOP for a revision to the sleeve. Note: All of the birth control was before i was banded in 2009 SW: 232 LW 143: Removal 2017 at 143. Sleeved 8/28/19 at 173.5, today 131.4

Me too. If I only eat greens (and nothing else) I can eat LOTS. (I'm 1 yr 4 mnths out)

I think that's an unrealistic goal from your RD for now. But, you need to follow the plan set for you or get them to rework it to something more manageable? Mine did this for me cuz she knows I prefer a low carb life and that I love my veg and need the fiber. She told me to drink up to 1 protein drink per day to get 25-30g of protein in me. That way, I can have more veggies in my meals without stressing. Now that I'm 2 years out, I can easily get my 60g of protein in per day. My vitamin levels were all beautiful at 2 years. The first lunch listed was my Healthy Tuna Salad with veggie dippers. Here's the recipe. You can scroll down to see a picture of the lunch in that post. Second lunch was a small side salad with an avocado egg toast chaffle (low carb). Here's my recipe for low carb high protein chaffles. And here's a picture of that meal. But to add, salad and raw veggies to some extent are sliders for me. And I'm 2 years out.

I wish I could get that many veggies in. Luckily I haven't found any that don't agree with me. I really need to step up my veggie game. I do eat a lot of broccoli which is my favorite. I'm just curious on your stuff from lunch yesterday. Are you having just a dab of yogurt? I'm guessing you're using it to make some kind of dip or dressing for the veggies? My NUT wants me to try and get as close to 20g protein at each meal. That doesn't leave a lot of room for veggies. I'm still relying on a protein shake most days as well. I use it for breakfast as its an easy grab and go.

Breath in and out. When you first have surgery, you are pumped full of fluids and all that, so you actually go up in weight. And it comes off. It all didn't come on overnight (but I know how easy a gain is, compared to a loss). My best advice - don't look at everyone else's numbers and stats, or you're going to drive yourself mad. I did that in the beginning. But everybody (emphasis on body) is different. It will work for you. You started at 250, so you may lose slower than someone who started at 450 (that's more fact). Every pound is great and when was the last time you lost 8 lbs in 13 days? That's an AMAZING accomplishment. Don't stress yourself out and keep working your program. You'll do wonderfully!! ❤️

Tim - follow the guidelines from your nutritionist. Since your stomach is still sore and very scarred from the surgery, it may not be giving you signals that you are full (that should change once you get to solid food). If they recommend 4 oz (max) of liquids or purées at a time, only have 4 oz - don’t eat more just because you can (I went through the same with my gastric sleeve surgery back in 2017). Measure, weigh, and take no more than 20 minutes to eat - it will help you stay on target even if your eyes and stomach say otherwise.

This is the correct answer. Anyone telling you to do planks or situps or the like is wrong. You can build muscle in the same places but you can't spot lose fat.
