    July 2019 - Surgery Schedule

Hi surgery sibling!! I'm so glad your foot did not delay your surgery! My goal during the pre OP diet was to lose 15 lbs, I'm down 10 lbs as of today. I'm now hoping I'll lose a total of 20 lbs before surgery. I've lost a total of 45lbs since January. We seem to have a lot in common, I got a job promotion end of last year and my granddaughter is 9 mos old. I also have a 5 yo grandson that keeps me pretty active. I struggle to keep up with them but I know it will get easier once the excess weight is off. I still cannot believe how close it is to surgery day!! My surgery is at 1pm on the 31st. My preop appt is Wednesday at 4pm. I pray your surgery goes well and you have a speedy recovery!! Sent from my [samsung Galaxy] using BariatricPal mobile app

I feel the same way. I feel like I'm at a decent weight now, meaning I'm not plus size anymore and I look a lot better than I did but my mind goes to the weight I still have to lose. I feel like I'm still fat and I cant just enjoy my success so far. I agree we all have some dysmorphia. Probably years of feeling like a failure. Its hard to get rid of those negative feelings. I think also, most of us lose weight and start to sag and get flabby in certain places and that makes the weight loss less positive. The loose skin is the biggest downside to weight loss for sure. One thing I can say...I gave my old clothes to a co worker who apparently was my size when I started and I CANT BELIEVE how big she looks. I had no idea I was that big. So I didnt know how fat I was in the beginning and I dont know how 'thin" I am now. I have a distorted image of myself apparently at every stage.

For months prior to having WLS I drank nothing but shakes and I lost a little (15 pounds). I still drink a protein shake every day and I use GNC Lean Shakes premade.

5'4" | 56yo Female | 133.4lbs | 17mos po | WLM (weight loss mode) | 60+ walking ***************************** Wow great choices from your meal out! It sounds lovely! And way better than what my day ended up being. I'm thinking I'll try today, but I may start entering my day retroactively. So today I'd post yesterday's menu. But we'll see. Today I may actually be able to stay on plan--yesterday needed to wing it. Am having some tummy issues from the surgeon having to manhandle my guts a couple of weeks ago and I'm kinda being forced into a Pouch Reset diet to try to see if I can wait it out til my gut wakes back up. So it's a full liquid diet today and I'm gonna see how it goes. Boring, but should be filling. B=protein latte x 3 MS=1 sf jello L=cocomo joe iced protein coffee AS=bone broth D=cocomo joe frappacino BS=2 sf popsicles

    Heard back from Surgeons office

They say I am going to skip the Psych stuff, and the usual longer diet since my BMI is 36. I will have to meet with a nutritionist and do a 3 day diet before surgery. The gal I talked to said she would talk to the DR. on Wednesday and then get back with me to schedule my surgery. Whoot!
