    Pre-OP Diet

Stay the course and stick to the plan. It will be difficult at first but remember you are one step closer to surgery day. Good luck.

    Feeling "weepy" & sad

Hoping someone can shed some light on why I might be feeling so sad & weepy. I'm 5 weeks out from GSV and feel great otherwise. I am also diagnosed with depression, but it was under total control before surgery. Do you think feeling sad & wanting to cry is normal, or could my meds not be working as well? I hate to tell my psychiatrist as she didn't want me to have the surgery in the first place. Thanks in advance for your insights.

    "Specialty Plastic Surgeon" too far?

It's truly the distance that bothers me... and the fact this office never returned either of my calls! What if there WAS an emergency or I needed to get a hold of them? Scary thoughts. I dunno - I'm going to consult with "my guy" and see how comfortable I feel after that visit. I would highlyyyy prefer to go to someone local. I live in West Virginia so my options are extremely limited, lol. I'd also be able to stay at the hospital I had my bariatric surgery at, which is wonderful. When I had lipo in 2009 in Baltimore I stayed at the world's worst hospital and it was a nightmare, so I know how important that part can be, too.

    "Specialty Plastic Surgeon" too far?

Good point. I would also assume that there are a lot more plastic surgeons per capita in L.A than Toronto...

Packing a bag for the hospital

I don't think I even got into my bag until discharge, so I really didn't use anything I'd packed. Not my charger, not my PJ's, nothing. In fact, I think I turned my phone off and never turned it on. I might have had some lip balm and I would highly recommend having some, just in case. At discharge, I washed my face and combed my hair, put on some comfy clothes and out the door I went. Regarding slippers, I had them in my bag but never got them out and I'm glad I didn't. I agree with KCgirl061 above. There's nothing wrong with the hospital socks, even the gowns are tolerable (not fashionable, but tolerable). My advice: pack light. Make sure you have some stretchy pants/comfy clothes to go home in. Otherwise, the rest is a personal choice. If you feel you need basic toiletries, include lip balm.

    Pain info

Yeah muscle pain or a lot of 3-renforcing stitching internally, as you continue healing they do start to pull. I am a great believer in warmth therapy, my family said I must be part cat and there are some who just accuse me of being Catty and Those are the people who believe they have a personal mandate from God to run things and that my life especially needs guidance. But there are a few of them in most every family.

    An Uncomfortable Question

Sex is sooooo much better when I'm thinner. And even with looser skin, I am waaaay hotter than when I was obese. And not just because I am thinner, but because I am more CONFIDENT and sure of myself, and the weight loss was a big part in re-cultivating that. You are really worried about how you will feel/look after weight loss (I notice this is your second post on the topic ♥️). But are you happy with your situation right now? I'm guessing that you aren't since you are moving forward with the surgery. Change is scary. But if you put in the effort, it will totally be worth it. 100%. ♥️

    How many carbs?

So each shake should have no more than 5g of sugar? Darn! mine has 9g. I guess it's back to soy isolate for me.
