You are seriously over thinking this. Tell him you are having surgery. His reaction is going to tell you if he is the man you should be marrying or not. Married people keep secrets from the rest of the world all the time. If he can't keep your secret he isn't worth marrying.

Several years ago when I was sleeved I had the cottage cheese pancakes recipe but can't find it now. I know it had egg white in it too. Does anyone have it? I am having GB in a couple weeks and would love to have it! thanks!

I started this journey 5/9/17 after years of denial. This year I made the realistic decision to walk in the Dr. Office asking for help with now a possible death sentence. After the traumatic fire lost after a new marriage, I realized that I could have dead in the fire. I am expecting a longer healthy life. My son got married this year and couldn't imagine not being able to enjoy my grandkids. I'm excited about my NEW BEGINNING! My Dr. Office scheduled my surgery before approval so I am not on pre op diet. My clearance came to my husband phone while in the chest xray 🙇 what is the required days of pre op diet? Greetings to ALL!

    Need Encouragement! -pre op diet

Day 4 is even better, thankfully! I think maybe the biggest issue was cutting off sugar and caffeine suddenly. The Milk Diet is just another variation of a liquid diet. It's designed to meet the body's minimal needs for protein with minimal calories so fat will be burned. It's supposed to make surgery easier for the heart and lungs and shrink the liver. It's a rough diet. Skim milk is not filling at all. But it's doing its job. I'm already down 6 pounds. Which is crazy!

    Protein

In the first 3- 6 months before you can eat enough real food, you have to force those protein shakes down. I hated them with a passion but I knew it was supremely important to weight loss and maintaining muscle mass so I drank them anyway, gagging all the way. You can also try the Premier Protein Clear protein waters - 90 calories and 20g protein. I generally don't tolerate drinks with artificial sweeteners but I actually like them. Also Fairlife milk has 13g of protein per cup. Make your protein shakes with Fairlife and you get an extra protein boost.

How do I stop cravings ?

There are two phases to weight loss surgery. I had RNY gastric bypass surgery and I transitioned from the Weight Loss phase to the Maintenance phase at around 7 months. But it also depends on the type of surgery. Some individuals with the sleeve generally get there in up to 2 years. And it depends on who much weight you have to lose and your own body chemistry. For those with gastric bypass, you body changes physically. After surgery, the part of your stomach that process fats and sugars has been cut away and these substances will quickly pass out of your stomach and into your intestines which does not know what to do with them. That is why your surgeon restricts your diet to eliminate or minimize these. But after several months, you intestines change and learn how to process these substances. Around this time hunger returns. It is not as strong as before surgery, but the honeymoon period is over. Anyways if you had gastric bypass, you may be transitioning into the Maintenance phase. The strategies are different between these two phases, so you must adjust accordingly. Anyways this is my impression of the Maintenance phase. http://www.breadandbutterscience.com/Surgery2.pdf

    Protein

I usually get around 60+. I've had a few days in the 50's. I try to drink a shake if I'm too low. I'm only 7 weeks out.

    1) No, I kept the majority of the weight I lost off. I think I gained about a fourth of what I lost in total. The first 3 or 4 days after the unfill, I gained 17 lbs of just Water alone. Bleh. My average calories was similar to what it's been it's for 7 years (~1200 to 1500 calories). I was told this was normal due to being malnourished and dehydrated by having a too tight band for too long. 2) I had the band removal to sleeve in one step surgery. I was still in onederland when they suggested that I get a revision. They unfilled me that day. I remained unfilled for several months to let my esophagus and stomach rest before the surgery, which was done as an outpatient. (Easy recovery, btw) 3) Not much lost during 3 weeks pre-op, for the same reason I gained some of my weight back. My body was still adjusting and hung onto everything. Even on 800 cal pre-op, my body wouldn't budge! grrrr 4) 11 weeks post op revision: 36 lbs. lost
