Understanding the psychology of it all!

I know where you're coming from. As a big girl, I was the extrovert, the one with the big heart, the one who always gave of myself, but since losing weight I find myself far more cynical and have put up walls to protect myself as well. I don't think I'm any less of the person I once was, I am just more careful about who I'm like that with. You will change as society changes the way it views you, and you will find a new normal, I'm sure of it.

    Starving like Marvin

Hi T! Actually, its probably a good sign you're starting to be hungry....means the surgical swelling is subsiding. Walking will certainly be your best friend right now. Just think in a couple of weeks, you'll be using those herbs to put on some nice grilled fish or chicken, etc. Now, lets go Blues!

    Starving like Marvin

Of course, ask! I had the same issue. I called the doctor's office. I was told that I could get a cup of plain yogurt (not greek and not thick and creamy), and thin it down with milk or a protein shake and drink that. It did help get me through till I could start the mushy phase.

Hallelujah the culprit may have been found!!

WOW-meds can do a job on people. My husband has very mild diabetes and one med made his sugar go over 500 and need 6 shots a day. Off that med and now takes 2 pills at dinner. Glad you're feeling better. By the way-in your picture-you look 'f' amazing.

    Feeling Guilty

Guilt is what made me fat. Use your awareness and mindfulness and make today a new day. The more you recognize your triggers and behaivors...the easier it will be to change them.

    Instant Gradification Junkie

I have always struggled with the instant gratification thing as well! I had to rethink the way I "think" about exercise. I list all the benefits of exercise, other than weight loss (i.e, sleep better, better mood, clothes fit better, regulates blood sugar, helps keep my skin from getting too saggy....). I exercise for all the reasons listed. I am not religious about it....but I am getting there. I always enjoy your posts.....this really transforms the way we think about everything. I just had a conversation with my inner 2 year old that wants everything RIGHT NOW! She seems to be a little quiet this week. Today I am the adult.
