Quick Question About Port

Recommended Posts

Hey!

I have a quick question! I am 25 days POST surgery and having been doing well. I used to be able to feel my port, as weird as it was it felt squishy and round and I could feel it. Now I woke up this morning, and it seems to have disappeared and I can't feel it anymore. Is that normal or has anyone dealt with that?? Please let me know! Thanks!

It was like 2 months after my surgery before i felt my port , I am wondering what you felt was scar tissue. I am almost 14 wks out and i can feel my port real easy. When i get my fills they do them while i am standing up.

When I first had the surgery I could feel my port with no problem, but im over a month post op, I could still feel it a little but not as much as before.

I'm about 6 days post op and I don't even know where my port is! I've gently felt around all the incision to see if I could feel it but I can't and I don't want to poke around too much at this point of course.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
