nauseous, dizzy & stuck?!

Recommended Posts

Hey! I got banded last tues... (11/10/09) I did good on the next day. But then yesterday I felt awful! nauseous, & stuck. This morning I felt a bit better, but then when I started to drink down the liquids, I started to feel the same way as I did yesterday- stuck. Felt like there was no air in my stomach, it made me nauseous & dizzy! I called my nurse, she kept saying keep drinking - you need 64 oz of liquids a day... I cant keep drinking if I feel like throwing up :)

did you go through this in ur first week? what do you suggest?

thanks!

I have to wonder if they prefilled your band some....please ask that question. Weigh yourself tonight and tomorrow and if you lose 2 more pounds from vomitting please go to the ER or call your surgical on call service. In the meantime, sugar free Jello and popsicles count as liquids and try to keep drinking even if it is a spoonful every 10 minutes.

Best wishes and let us know how you do.

Mimi

I will ask them that... I didn't vomit at all ever... Just feels like it. I do eat Popsicles and jello... It's still the same. I guess I'm gonna have to wait and give it few more days and see?

Hey I was banded on Mon 11-9-09 and I am going through the same thing you are. I was feeling better yesterday but now today I feel like something is stuck and I am very nauseous.....I also read some of your other post and the 3rd day after surgery was the worst for me too. I had alot of pain over my port, felt like someone was stabbing me, but that got better and now it is this stuff.

I am new to Lap Band Talk and I think it is a great thing to be able to talk to people that are going through the same thing as you are and get support and ideas.

Hi - I got banded the same day as you and have been experiencing the same thing. I have even "thrown-up" 3 times which was basically saliva and air. It felt awful at the time but the relief after was amazing!! The only thing I am getting down now is a weak hot cup of tea and very slowly!! Ater that my other options are drinking yoghurt and Soup. I was a bit worried at first as I am not getting all my liquids/nutrients in but have decided to be kind to myself and not stress over that. I think hot things help clear the way down for me. Anyway hope that helps - I will be checking in with my surgeon on Monday when office is open. Best of luck.....Michelle

I was banded on 11-9-09 and woke up this evening feeling kind of yucky. I haven't been hungry and wonder if I'm not getting enough nutrients. Maybe I'm afraid of the stuck feeling.....Hope everyone starts feeling better soon.

I was banded on Thursday 11/12. I was fine the first day, was able to drink 8oz Protein drink and then all h*ll broke loose. Felt like everytime I took a drink of Water, or Protein Drink I was getting stuck. I was taking too big of gulps. Today is 3 days post-op and I have eaten a popsicle and drank about 3 oz of Protein drink! Im taking it easy and lying down when i need it! Best of luck to you

Thanks for y'all responses.. I feel better I'm not the only one here with this problem.

I am generally feeling much better now. I guess it takes few days to get used to it. I do occasionally feel stuck at times but hot tea helps a lot!

Hope some of you going through this, feels better as I am too!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
