Hi. I'm new here but I need your help. I was banded on June 5, 2009. I've lost about 65lbs but my weightloss has slowed. I only lost 3lbs last month. My motivation to exercise is just not where it should be. I hate outdoors and the closest gym is about a hour away. Do you know of any exercises that a trying to reform couch potato might enjoy. Need to be low impact because of bad knee. Please HELP.

i have a stationary bike that i get on everyday,an ride for 45minutes ,4 to 5 times a day.it seems the only time i lose weight is when i get a fill.last month i lost 5lbs. total 65lbs,plus 40 before surgery.so that,s 100lbs.but what,s keeps me motivated i think about the weight i am gonna lose.think about how sexy you gonna look this time next year.

I have read this book on people's psychology and one of the lines there is still in my head. "don't wait for motivation to start something. Act first and motivation will come later". Meaning if you are sitting on the couch and saying "oh i wish i was motivated to work out" it won't happen. Get up and start moving. the hardest part is to start. After you start feeling great..you are now motivated to continue and do well.

that works for me. Also looking at people's success stories....keeps me going big time! and thats with everything..not just weightloss.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
