HI - I had my lap Band done just over a month ago. I am a self funded Candidate as I am new to the country where I Live and do not have medical Cover. I could have waited a year for it to be coivered but felt I needed it now. From my first Doc consultant to My op it was 5 weeks.

It has been 21/2 weeks since I have had my op and I have lost ( including the pre op weight loss) 30 Pounds. I am going in 5 days to have my first filling and I am finding that the weight loss has slowed down - but have ready that this is normal - In fact I find my weight jumping up and down.

I have been overweight ever since i can rember and it was about time that i did something proactive about it - instead of just hitting the diets - which work for a short while and then I just put the weight back onand some more.

I am aiming to achieve my goal Weight of 180 pounds. I started this journey with a weight of 299.9 pounds - currently is am 271 pounds. The road is a long one ahead - but one that i am very excited and scared to take.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
