Husband doesn't notice weight loss

Recommended Posts

Maybe it's a man thing because to be honest; I don't notice my own weight loss and I have dropped over 1/3 of my body weight.

He's not looking for a new, thinner you. He loves you no matter what.

Or

DH: "Wow, you lost a lot of weight, you look great."

DW: "Are you saying I was fat and ugly before?"

lol. My poor husband is working hard to figure out what i am comfortable with and what I am not.

This comes under the "grace" clause with me. I grant it because I know that I need it, too. I am sure that I don't tell him the things that would make him feel better about himself, either.

That is exactly what I was thinking as I read this thread. All these poor guys walking around with invisible bear traps all around them. LOL!

Ok I know Im young, and Ive only been married 4 years, but a friend of mine gave me some advice of hers that I have always liked. Her husband can be very forgetful and often doesn't notice the haircut or new outfit or weight loss etc. and even forgets an important date here and there. She basically told me that she has come to know that he is that way and what to expect, and she also knows that he does genuinely care, he's just not thinking about it sometimes. So instead of sitting back and waiting and setting herself up for disappointment, she just asks, "what do you think of my hair?" or "Im so excited about our anniversary next week!" Anything to just remind him and then he responds appropriately lol Its not quite the same as the times when he notices without the prompting, but a little prompting is still better than sitting back and being totally disappointed, IMO anyways.

I liked her advice so I do the same now :-) On the occasions when he doesnt notice my haircut, I just ask and he tells me he likes it and ill take that. its better than sitting there dwelling on how he didnt notice.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
