My PA had a serious talk with me on Monday...

Recommended Posts

I had a fill about a month ago. I am now filled to 8 in a 10cc band. I had only lost one pound in a month for a total of 22 pounds. My PA was very disappointed and I must admit that I was disappointed as well. We had a serious discussion about what I have been eating and it turns out I have been consuming hundreds of calories of liquids and slider foods. She wants me to journal everything I eat and come for a flouro in 3 weeks to make sure that my pouch is not stretched. Well... I have been journaling and eating within 1,000-1,100 calories this week and I have lost 4 pounds.

I hope my pouch isn't stretched but I am happy that I am losing weight again.

I am glad the PA and you had that great talk. It is easy to increase ones' calories without realizing it. Congrats on the 4 pound loss and good luck with your pouch being not stretched.

Pephlin, way to go! That's awesome -- 4 lbs. in one week!!! :frown::eek:

I found one of the greatest tools to help me is the dailyplate (Click here: Calorie Counter, Diet Tracking, food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate). It is an online food tracker that helps you keep track of calories, Protein, Water intake, exercise, weight, and so much more. A believe a lot of people on this forum use it or a similar online food tracker.

Good luck to you! Keep up the great work!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
