What is going on??

:smile2:

O.K. so here is my situation. I was banded back in March. I have been getting my fills and then had one that was way to tight. They have loosened it and I was going good for a couple of weeks. Well the last week or so I have started to have this hot feeling in the back of my throat. and I burp all the time. I also feel like someone is squeezing the inside of my chest. I read one post that some people feel their band get tighter when then are on there period. Don't know if that is true. Is it? I am worried to call the doctor because I am afraid the will want to take more out and then I won't be losing weight. Any suggestions on what to do or what might be causing this?

Thanks

Speaking from someone who has slipped her band TWICE , GET TO THE DOC. It sounds like your having some reflux possibly .

Look at it this way , what is better , stalling on the weight loss for a while or risking losing your band becasue its slipped ?

Dont wait . I cant stress this enough . If your too tight YOU HAVE TO GO In, your doc is there for a reason . And in actuality you can STOP losing because your not getting in enough calories from being too tight.

GO TO THE DOC

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
