Recommended Posts

Banded April 1st...Love my band I have lost 52lbs so far...I have a 10cc band I think, with one fill of 3cc's....Yesterday had a piece of dry chicken, worst thing anyone can do lol...Anyway I got so stuck i was in SOOOO MUCH PAIN...I wanted to die...I PB'ED a few times till finally the pain subsided. Now I have some after affects, and I want to know what you other lapbanders out there think...

Since my PB yesterday...I stopped food, and did liquids the whole nite...This morning i did only my coffee, and now made some lentil Soup...Now i have this crampy feeling, as if my tummy isn't happy...The crampy feeling is more on the right side then my left...BUT i can keep down liquids, and mushies ok...I just have this weird feeling....

I don't know if i should call the doctor for something that is normal...What do u guys think?

You're fine....sounds like it irritated your esophagus. Not to mention the mental impact, LOL. Heck, my first PB the food shot out of my mouth like a cannon ball. Thank God I was alone when that happened! You should be fine to eat mushy food or whatever goes down comfortably. It will go away pretty quickly.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
