I'm so lazy/tired to do ANYTHING!

Recommended Posts

So I've done all the requirements for the surgery. I've had the consultation, had all the labs, tests, evals, etc. However, the one thing holding me back is my TSH - which is my thyroid level. I was told my TSH level is a 6.8. Normal is 3.0 and under. They told me that I wuold have to see my GP and talk about being on synthroid. So last week I went in and he thought it would be in my best interest to get my labs taken again as well as a T4 level drawn.

Anyway, I'm just playing the waiting game.

BUT LATELY!!!!:huh2: :

I HAVE JUST BEEN SOOO TIRED/LAZY!!:):w00t::sleep:

I just don't have any energy right now. Just the thought of doing laundry, housework, even taking my dogs out for a walk just urks me.

I'm just so frustrated that I can't get off my butt for the life of me.

About a month ago I started working nightshift 12 hour shifts 3 nights a week. I don't know if that has something to do with it, but I honestly just think it's because I'm fat and/or combonation of the thyroid problem.

I just wanna cry I'm so frustrated!!:drool::crying:

I want to get this weight loss surgery ASAP!

I just needed to vent that, sorry. LOL:thumbdown:

Hi Jessica,

I had issues with being tired and lethargic too and turned out my thyroid was a little outta whack.

I am now on Synthroid and i have an abundance of energy. If your thyroid is that far outta whack too it could

def be contributing to your being so worn out. You should have the labs done and get some thyroid meds if required.

Good luck in your road to looking kick butt awesome!

It's probably your thyroid. Once the PCP confirms and gets you properly titrated on synthroid (and that can be a process so be patient) you'll feel much better.

Im on meds for my thyroid. Is it possable to get off the meds once ya lose weight or is it a life time thing?

Your meds will need to be adjusted, but you won't be able to discontinue them just because you reduce your weight. Sorry!

I think you need to go easy on yourself till you get your thyroid right.

Its partly being fat, it makes you lazy and tired, so that working out isnt appealing. On that note, perhaps you can make a deal with yourself that you do a gentle 30 minute walk a day or that you do your housework and only sit down doing nothing for x hours per day or whatever. Just increase your movement slightly for the weight loss process. No matter the cause of tiredness being inactive doesnt help it and makes you feel worse. But if you're thyroid's out of whack, thats a kind of tiredness you cant talk yourself out of and its very debilitating, having big expectations of yourself just now is only going to end in disappointment that you havent managed to do it.

But getting the weight off, its amazing when you realise how tired carrying it all around actually made you. Being normal weight makes a HUGE difference to energy levels.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
