Ok so now I have to wait some more for my doc to do my medical clearance and then to get a appt with the nutritionist and then I can get a date ...... this waiting process seems endless I'm glad I've dedicated myself to this because if not this waiting could be a real turn off

I'm with you on that. If I didn't want to better my health and lifestyle I would of gave up a long time ago. I have an appt with nutritionist 9/8, lab work & med release appt with family doctor 9/17, 2nd pre op date 9/30, and scheduled for surgery 10/07. I haven't been approved yet as they are waiting for my nutritionist appt to be complete. I would feel better knowing I was approved as I have a fear that I'm pumping myself up to be told no. That wouldn't be good. I completed everything else required and that was more then I have left, but if it goes through then it was all worth it. Hang in there and be happy you have approval. What insurance did you have?

Cap Blue Cross of PA I did have to call my PCP's office today and make his staff understand I already did the med clearence physical and that he just needed to sign it and send it back no need to lose time there as soon as my surgeon has that back they'll make an appt w/ the nutritionist... so I'm gonna hurry up and wait for that, after that it'll be an upper GI and a date I believe.

Talk about waiting - I have completed all of my pre-op and spoken with my insurance company and they told me that I had been approved. Yeah. Now I have to wait for the letter from BCBS to get to my doctors office, before I can call and get my first appointment with the actual Doctor. You would think they could fax it or e-mail it. No I must wait on the good ole Postal Service. LOL

I totally agree. This waiting is very testy. I just hope this is not going to be like all of my other failed attempt. Maybe, by next week I will aleast have an appointment date.

In Georgia - going to Peachtree Bariatric with Dr. Duncan.

AMEN! I got approved on 9/24 and there wasn't a pre-op appointment available until 10/9. Of course, I don't get my freaking date until after that appointment (I have to sign the consent forms, etc.) It just feels like I'm at a complete standstill right now, even though my appointment is on Friday. I think I'm going to hit a support group meeting tonight to feel like this is still happening.

Hang in there and keep us posted on when you get your date!!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
