Hi I am new on here and I just have a few tings to throw out there.....I had my surgery last Thursday. I got the realize band. This is amazing it is going to change my life....if I can get thru this 5 week period to my first fill.

I am going crazy!! The Clear Liquids were very difficult for me. I am paranoid my band is going to fall off or not work or, who knows what. Now I am on full liquids and I cant handle the shakes. I can handle one maybe. And today I just went a lil crazy and ate a piece of toast with butter and I ate it fast. It felt like it got stuck in my chest and I had to sit totally still until I felt it go down. Did I totally screw everything up now?? Do I need to call my doctor about this? I cannot have something go wrong with this, I will be so so sad. Is this paranoia, wantng to eat craziness normal?:w00t:

I know it's hard but trust me, it will pass quite quickly. The best thing you can do is stick to the diet. We're on it because we have to let our stomach heal. Use this example and how it made you feel/getting stuck to keep you from cheating again. You need to let your tummy heal and not force it to digest food before it's ready to.

I am on week 5 post op. Once you get on mushies, it's like a whole new world. It took two weeks for me to get to purees and it was tough, but it's worth it. I am on solid food now and even without a fill, I am losing weight and not having a problem.

You don't want to screw up your stomach. And really, what's two weeks in the grand scheme of things? Stay strong and this period will be over before you know it!

Do they allow yogurt? If so get some Protein Powder and mix it with nonfat greek yogurt. It will give you tons of Protein to keep you full. I use the Isopure Dutch chocolate powder. One scoop is 25 g of protein. Mix it with greek yogurt, which has 16 g and you are at 41 g without having to force down a shake.< /p>

I know it's tough, but hang in there! It will be so worth it in no time!

Best of luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
