make a eight loss inspiration book

Recommended Posts

I posted this in response to another thread, but I thought I'd share it here too.

We all have those moments where we want to eat something we shouldn't, we don't want to eat/drink what we should (protein shakes), we don't want to exercise, etc.

My friend suggested I make an inspiration book and it's been a great help!

I went through mags and the Internet and cut out/printed out clothes I wanted, sexy outfits, places I wanted to visit, things I wanted to do, hot men...basically anything that I wanted/wanted to do when I am thinner. I pasted them in a small journal I keep with me. When temptation gets too great or I don't want to exercise or whatever, I pull it out and it reminds me of what it is I am doing all this for.

(A picture of Jason Isaacs in the bathtub is a great motivator for me to get on that elliptical trainer!)

Great idea! I did something similar as well, especially during my pre-op diet. I had pictures of different things/goals/clothes/places etc that I wanted when I reached goal posted all over my house, all over my fridge and food cabinets. Great motivation and reminds me of why I'm doing what I do.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
