I was banded in Feb. 09 and have lost 29lbs. to date. I realize that we that need to loose less weight will loose slower, but does anyone else get frustrated when you read how much weight everyone else is loosing in the same amount of time? I try to remind myself that slower is better but it gets frustrating.

Does anyone else get frustrated?

I still have another 49lbs. to loose and would love to loose it by the time my husband and I renew our wedding vows next April in Hawaii!

I totally know how you feel about the slow weight loss. It has taken me over a year to lose this much. Just try your hardest and remember that everyone is different! Slow is definitely good, and you will be grateful for it in the future. Good luck!

Hello - I have been banded a little over 6 months and lost 51 lbs. Not as much as I would like, but I'll take it. I would say get a fill, be aggressive. Yes, it's a little more troublesome and difficult but if you want to see results it will work. I am still trying to figure out how to work with the band but it does get better. Hang in there...and remember a loss is a loss. :-)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
